This version is identical to the one included in IBM-DOS 5.0. This version expects to be able to load ROMDOS at xF6000, which is usually handled by some different version of BIOS. |
5 | lemm2fix.zip | 21-10-2001 | 4 Kb. | 0 | LEMM2FIX is a TSR, to get Lemmings 2 by Psygnosi to work under OS/2. The problem was the copy protection. It uses INT 25h, direct read bypassi g DOS. This call is NOT supported by OS/2 (for obvious reasons) and my TSR emulates it (well somehow ;) No |

11 | vCDR090b.zip | 04-03-2003 | 8 Kb. | 0 | Martin Kiewitz's vCDROM v0.90b. Written and (c) by Martin Kiewitz. Dedicated to Gerd Kiewitz. OS/2 / eComStation's VDM is nearly perfectly emulating a real DOS session. Did I say nearly? Yes, I did. The VCDROM driver has some really bad bugs, incompatibility issues and also traps the system every now and then (due bad pointer handling). That's why I wrote a replacement driver for this VDD. It includes all the fixes from vCOMPAT. It also won't trap and it's checking input/output buffers for segment overflows. Another feature is the automatic unlocking. |
12 | vcmpt035.zip | 15-09-2006 | 16 Kb. | 0 | Martin Kiewitz's vCompat v0.35b. Written and (c) by Martin Kiewitz. Dedicated to Gerd Kiewitz. OS/2 / eComStation's VDM is nearly perfectly emulating a real DOS session. Did I say nearly? Yes, I did. Some programs are too restrictive in their use of DOS APIs. And some MDOS-APIs do not behave 100% like in real DOS. Additionally some programs contain library bugs, so they won't run on faster machines even under real DOS (like e.g. Turbo Pascal CRT Unit bug). That's why I did this compatibility VDD. It hooks itself into the middle of several APIs and it contains a magical VM patcher, that is able to patch out some buggy routines on-the-fly, which means the user won't even notice that he got a broken program. |
