On Halloween night, a soldier and a vampire stand guard in front of Steelton's industrial landscape, dominated for over a century by the massive Bethlehem Steel mill. Bethlehem Steel declared bankruptcy in 2001, and the mill, which stretches for four miles (6 kilometers) along the Susquehanna riverfront, was sold.
