Where Bandung, Java
When 1971
Photographer Dean Conger

In the early 18th century, Dutch settlers began creating tea plantations on the island of Java. The tea is usually hand picked, which involves great skill and exhaustive labor. Tea pluckers, like the one seen here, must know the exact time to pick the leaves to ensure the best quality.
