IntelliChess 1.1 help
IntelliChess runs on any Pocket PC powered device.
To install the game, please follow step-by-step instruction below:
- Download
IntelliChess ZIP archive
- Extract the IntelliChess installation executable from the
downloaded ZIP archive using any unzip utility such as WinZIP
- Connect your Pocket PC to your desktop computer.
- Run the extracted "
ppcic.exe" on the desktop
computer.
- IntelliChess will be installed on your Pocket PC. To start the
game tap "IntelliChess" shortcut at either Start menu or
"Programs\Games" folder at your Pocket PC device.
IntelliChess saves the games in PGN format. PGN is "Portable Game
Notation", a standard representation of chess game data in ASCII text
files.
Start the new game. You can choose side to play (black or white) and
skill level (Easy, Average or Best).
Load the saved or downloaded game, as well you can choose the game
database to load the party from.
When you load the game:
- You see the position in which the game was saved.
- The game is not proceed automatically, but it waits till you move
the piece or press "Move now" or switch the sides.
- The game can be wound by means of Navigation Bar.
Save the current position either in an internal format 'ic' or in PGN format.
Pause the game and get extra time to think over the game.
Undo the last move.
Make IntelliChess to move immediately.
Get a hint from IntelliChess.
View all pieces captured.
Flip the chess-board.
Resign the game.
You can choose board and pieces style and board size.
In the Preferences window, you can adjust game settings.
To access some advanced settings, tap "Advanced" button:
- Permanent brain - if checked, IntelliChess does not stop processing the
moves at all. Requires additional system resources, and therefore may affect performance.
- Hash table - important chess engine parameter; affects chess engine strength. Set higher values to
increase IntelliChess strength. NOTE: higher Hash Table values require much memory and may
significantly descrease other application's performance.
- Opening library - if checked, IntelliChess uses the built-in opening library to make first moves.
