Bosses

Hammer Brothers

HP: 50 each
Weakness: Jump attacks
Immune To: None
Level: 2 or higher

These guys are easy to beat. Just time a Jump attack and then follow it
up with a timed Punch attack on each of them. They have some powerful
attacks, so you may need to use a Mushroom or two in this fight. Win and
you'll gain the Hammer. Be sure to equip it.

Croco

HP: 320
Weakness: Fire attacks
Immune To: Sleep
Level: 4 or higher

He takes a while to beat but isn't too much of a threat. Just use Fire
Orb to do about 50 damage, and have Mallow use items and HP Rain to heal
and restore FP as needed. Don't have Mallow attack, because he does like
1 damage. Just have him Defend if he has nothing else to do. Don't let
up with the Fire Orb and he'll be toast within a few turns.

Mack The Knife

HP: 480
Weakness: Thunder attacks
Immune To: None
Level: 6 or higher

Your first real challenge, but it's still pretty easy if you know how to
do it. Bring 15 or so Mushrooms and about 8 Honey Syrups When the battle
starts, he'll call in four of his flunkies to help him out. Have Mallow
time a Thunderbolt to damage Mack and clear out the Cronies, and have
Mario jump Mack. When his flunkies are gone, have Mallow defend, and
Mario use Jump every turn. Mallow can use items, should the need arise.
Mack can only use an attack that hits one person, or another attack that
hits both Mario and Mallow but does less damage. Keep hitting him until
he calls more Cronies and jumps out of the fight. Have Mario defend or
use items and Mallow clear them out. When Mack returns, repeat the
process of Jump/Defend and use Defend/Thunder when the cronies return.
Repeat this to take him out and claim the first Star Piece.

Pandorite

HP: 300
Weakness: Jump attacks
Immune to: Other Magic
Level: 6 or higher

He uses attacks similar to Mack the Knife's, but fights alone. Have
Mario Jump or Super Jump him, and have Mallow attack and heal. He'll
give you the Trueform Pin. Equip it on Mario, he'll need it for the
upcoming fight.

Belome

HP: 500
Weakness: Thunder
Immune To: Sleep
Level: 8 or higher

He's not too tough but still can be dangerous. Be sure to equip the
Trueform Pin on Mario. Have Mallow use timed Thunderbolts to do a good
amount of damage, and have Mario use Super Jump or just attack if you
want to save MP for Mallow's Thunderbolt. Eventually, Belome will eat
Mallow, taking him out of the fight for a few turns. Don't let Mario be
KO'ed during this time, or it's Game Over. When Belome spits Mallow back
out, finish him off.

Bowyer

HP: 720
Weakness: None
Immune To: Status Changes
Level: 9 or higher
joins you for this fight. Be sure to protect him, he doesn't have any
armor equipped like you do, and thus Bowyer does more damage to him.
After a few turns, Bowyer will "lock" one of the controller buttons,
meaning that you can't use it until he locks a different one (if he
locks X, for example, you won't be able to use items). Try to improvise
when this happens (if he locks A, use specials. If he locks Y, use timed
attacks. If he locks X, use Healing Rain). Use your best attacks on him.
Super Jump works wonders, so use it whenever you get the chance.

Croco (again)

HP: 750
Weakness: Fire
Immune To: Sleep
Level: 10 or higher

Just attack him with regular attacks. Save your MP, you'll need it
later. After a while, he'll take all your items away, so you'll have to
rely on HP Rain for healing. Use Timed attacks and try to time it so
that you block his attacks, so you can save MP. Beat him to get your
money and all your stuff back.

Punchinello

HP: 1200
Weakness: None
Immune To: Jump, Status Changes
Level: 10 or higher

He'll call on four Micro Bombs, which will run up and explode on you.
Use Thunderbolt to take them out, and have Mario and Geno attack Punchy
with regular attacks. After a few rounds of punishment, Punchy upgrades
to Bob-Ombs, which do more damage. Don't use Thunderbolt, just
concentrate on blocking and healing. After a few more rounds, he'll call
on Macro Bombs, which do even more damage than Bob-Ombs. Keep healing up
and blocking the hits and you'll win and claim the third Star Piece.

Snifit

HP: 200
Weakness: ???
Immune To: ???
Level: 10 or higher

They're not too tough, just hit them with regular attacks. You don't
even have to fight them if you don't talk to them, but you should just
to get experience.

Booster

HP: 800
Weakness: Ice (heh..I doubt you have it this early on, unless you bought
some Ice Bombs back in Moleville)
Immune To: Sleep
Level: 11 or higher

He has some mean attacks, but isn't very tough. Just heal up with items
whenever he attacks you, and return fire with your best attacks. Bowser
paired with Chomp does a good amount of damage. Soon, he'll run away.
You don't have to fight him if you win the Curtain Game.

Knife Guy

HP: 700
Weakness: Fire
Immune To: Thunder, Sleep
Level: 11 or higher

Grate Guy

HP: 900
Weakness: Thunder
Immune To: Sleep

I reccomend Geno and Bowser. Have Geno boost your teammates or just use
a Crystalline and Power Blast. You have to fight both of these guys at
once. Nail Knife Guy with Super Flame and Grate Guy with physical
attacks or Shocker if you have Mallow with you. They have a nasty team-
up attack, so concentrate mostly one one of them to prevent the team-up,
then defeat the other.

Torte

HP: 100
Weakness: ???
Immune To: Everything
Level: 12 or higher

Bundt

HP: 900
Weakness: Jump attacks
Immune To: Everything but Silence
Level: 12 or higher

Raspberry

HP: 600
Weakness: Jump attacks
Immune To: Everything but Silence
Level: 12 or higher

I higly reccomend having Bowser and Geno, and plenty of Mid Mushrooms
and Maple Syrups. The two Tortes attack, but they're wimpy. You can't
hurt them, so attack the cake instead. After a while, the cake will come
to life and the Tortes will run away. Bundt has some pretty tough
attacks like Sandstorm and Diamond Saw. Use Super Jump and have Bowser
use a timed Chomp attack to do major damage (somewhere around 100!).
Have Geno use Geno Boost on everyone to do even more damage (and time it
to boost their defense as well). After depleting Bundt's HP, it will
become Raspberry, which has the same attacks but less HP.

King Calamari

HP: 800
Weakness: Fire
Immune To: Status effects
Level: 14 or higher

You'll have to fight a bunch of this critter's tentacles before you
fight him. I reccomend bringing Geno and having him Boost every
character to counter the "fear" attacks he inflicts. When you reach King
Calamari, use Super Flame to fry him.

Hidon (Wasn't he a boss in FF6 or something?)

HP: 600
Weakness: Jump attacks
Immune To: Other Magic
Level: 14 or higher

Sure, he's a pallette swap of Pandorite, but this guy is pretty tough. I
reccomend bringing Peach and Bowser. Pound on him with Super Jump and
the Hurly Gloves, and have the princess heal any damage you sustain.
After taking a lot of abuse Hidon will call on four Goombites, which
have few HP but have a nasty attack. Cast Poison Gas to damage the
Goombites. Take out Hidon and then defeat the Goombites.

Jonathan Jones

HP: 820
Weakness: None
Immune To: Sleep
Level: 16 or higher

Bring Geno and Toadstool into this fight. This guy is pretty tough, but
I have found a trick that will make him much easier to beat. Defeat all
but one of Johnny's minions, then pound on him without attacking the
last minion. Eventually you should beat him. If you want to make the
battle tougher, defeat all four minions and pound on him until he casts
"Toughen Up!", which increases his Defense. He'll then challenge Mario
to a one-on-one fight. Use Geno Boost before this happens to give Mario
more of a fighting chance, and deplete Johnny's remaining HP with Jumps
and timed attacks. Be sure to have lots of Maple Syrups, too. Defeat him
to claim the fifth Star Piece.

Yaridovich

HP: 1500
Weakness: Thunder
Immune To: Status effects
Level: 18 or higher

This is the toughest guy yet! Bring Toadstool and Mallow into battle,
and equip Toadstool with the B'tub Ring (reduces FP consumption by 1/2).
Have Mallow use Shocker to do a good amount of damage, and have Mario
attack, while Toadstool heals the team or defends. When Yarid splits
into two seperate forms, use ThunderShock and aim for the one that takes
more damage (it's the fake one). Defeat it quickly because Yarid and his
clone do a nasty attack when the clone is present. Keep up this attack
pattern and you should down him eventually.

Belome

HP: 1200
Weakness: Thunder
Immune To: Sleep
Level: 19 or higher

He's a formidable opponent, but not nearly as bad as Yarid. He can
swallow a character and spit out a clone of that character to assist
him. I highly suggest you avoid bringing Bowser into this fight, his
clones are hard to defeat. Instead, bring Mallow and Geno. Have Mallow
heal and nail Belome with Shocker, while the other two defeat the clones
and then attack Belome with their best moves.

Jagger

HP: 600
Weakness: None
Immune To: Jump, Fire, Poison
Level: 20 or higher

He has good attacks, but some quick healing will counter that. Just take
regular attacks to him until Jinx decides to challenge you.

Jinx

HP: 600
Weakness: None
Immune To: Everything but Jump
Level: 20 or higher

This guy is pretty tough. Bring Geno and Toadstool into this fight. Have
Mario use Ultra Jump while Geno uses timed attacks and Geno Boost, and
Peach heals the team from that nasty combo he pulls off. Be sure to
switch off Ultra Jump and regular attacks every now and then with Mario,
or else the Ultra Jump will become useless. But this is just a warm-up
for what's to come.

Jinx take 2

HP: 800
Weakness: None
Immune To: Everything but Jump
Level: 20 or higher

Jinx ups the ante a little! Follow the same strategy as last time, Ultra
Jumping and timing attacks while Geno boosts everyone, then concentrates
on attacking. Jinx's attacks are more powerful this time around, so have
Mario or Geno use items if they get severely injured and you're not sure
if Peach will heal them in time. Bring some Pick Me Ups in case Peach
gets nailed.

Jinx take 3

HP: 1000
Weakness: None
Immune To: Everything but Jump
Level: 22 or higher

Jinx is through playing around and is bent on whooping your @ss now.
Switch in Bowser and use a Crystalline and Power Blast as soon as you
can. Jinx now has two new moves that can defeat you instantly, and his
other attacks are even meaner than last time. Have Bowser use Timed
attacks while Mario uses Ultra Jump and Timed attacks. Have Peach revive
characters and heal up after attacks, and bring some Pick Me Ups in case
she gets nailed by a one-hit-KO.

Box Boy

HP: 900
Weakness: Jump attacks
Immune To: All other magics
Level: 20 or higher

Fautso

HP: 480
Weakness: ???
Immune To: Status effects
Level: 20 or higher

Box Boy starts out innocently enough, but soon he releases Fautso and
lets out powerful attacks like Boulder. Keep a constant rain of Ultra
Jumps going to dispatch him. Fautso is very dangerous because of his
powerful attacks. Try to take out Box Boy first, then defeat Fautso.

Smilax

HP: 200
Weakness: Ice
Immune To: Status effects
Level: 20 or higher

Megasmilax

HP: 1000
Weakness: Ice
Immune To: Status effects
Level: 20 or higher

You'll have to defeat a bunch of Smilaxes before you fight Megasmilax.
Bring Mallow into this battle, and have him use Snowy to do major damage
to the Smilax and Megasmilax. Have Mario and the other character follow
it up with regular attacks to defeat the enemies.

Shelly

HP: 500
Weakness: None
Immune To: Status effects
Level: 21 or higher

Birdo

HP: 777
Weakness: None
Immune To: Fire, Status effects
Level: 21 or higher

Eggbert

HP: 10
Weakness: None
Immune To: Status effects
Level: 21 or higher

Attack Shelly with normal attacks, because it can't fight back. After
you defeat the Shelly, Birdo will appear. Birdo has an incredibly high
defense, so attacking it will do little good. Instead, defend until
Birdo launches an egg at you. When it bounces off, attack it (Eggbert)
and the explosion will harm Birdo. Keep this pattern up until Birdo is
down.

Dodo

HP: 800 or 1000, depending on when you fight
Weakness: Poison
Immune To: None
Level: 22 or higher

You'll have to fight him up to three times, two on his own and one with
Valentina (which is the only time you absolutely HAVE to fight him). Put
Bowser in the middle when you fight Valentina (Dodo will take away the
one in the middle for a 1-on-1 fight) so that he can use Poison Gas on
Dodo and do major damage. Also equip an item that prevents you from
being silenced, because he likes to Flutter Hush you.

Valentina

HP: 2000
Weakness: None
Immune To: Ice and Status Effects
Level: 22 or higher

Dodo will take away the person in the middle of your line. After that
battle, you'll fight Valentina. Bring Geno and Bowser (put Bowser in the
middle), and have them attack and heal with items. When Dodo and the
other character return, just keep attacking Valentina. Dodo will run
away when Valentina is defeated. Be careful, though, Valentina can use a
nasty attack that turns everyone into Mushrooms, so equip Trueform Pins.

Czar Dragon

HP: 1400
Weakness: Ice
Immune to: Fire and Sleep
Level: 24 or higher

Zombone

HP: 1800
Weakness: Jump and Thunder attacks
Immune to: Fire and Status Effects
Level: 24 or higher

Bring Mallow and Peach to this fight. Have Mallow use Snowy, Mario
attack, and Peach heal. Czar dragon shouldn't be too much of a threat if
you keep attacking and healing. You can mute the Czar dragon if his
magic begins to get annoying (thanks to Michael Martinac for this bit).
After his 1400 HP are gone, he'll transform into Zombone. Ice isn't very
effective against Zombone, but Jump and Thunder attacks are. Use plenty
of those, and have Peach heal the damage he inflicts with his new
attacks. If you're healed up and Peach's turn comes up, have her use
some Pure Water on Zombone. It won't kill him instantly but it will do a
lot of damage. Defeat them both to gain the sixth Star Piece... for a
moment anyway.

Axem Red

HP: 800
Weakness: Ice
Immune To: Fire, Fear, Sleep
Level: 24 or higher

Axem Black

HP: 550
Weakness: Thunder
Immune To: Fear, Sleep
Level: 24 or higher

Axem Yellow

HP: 600
Weakness: Jump attacks
Immune To: Thunder, Poison, Sleep
Level: 24 or higher

Axem Green

HP: 450
Weakness: Ice
Immune To: Sleep, Silence
Level: 24 or higher

Axem Pink

HP: 400
Weakness: Thunder
Immune To: Ice, Sleep and Silence
Level: 24 or higher

Axem Rangers

HP: 999
Weakness: Thunder
Immune To: Status effects
Level: 24 or higher

When the battle begins, you'll have to fight all five of the Axems at
once! Put Geno and the Princess in for this battle. Defeat Pink first,
because she heals her teammates when you attack them. Each of the five
has their own special strength: Red is strongest, Black gets 2 attacks,
Green uses magic, Pink heals, and Yellow has the most defense. I
reccomend defeating them in this order: Pink, Black, Green, Red, Yellow.
When you defeat all five, they'll engage their main cannon (called "Axem
Rangers" when you target it), and unload with a Breaker Beam every few
turns. Heal up between attacks and keep attacking to take it down. For
all this hell you get a few measly experience points and the 6th Star
Piece.

Alternate strategy by MisterR6@excite.com

Hey there, I read the Boss FAQ. Well, I have yet another strategy. I
managed to ignore Mallow's low defense for the Axem Rangers' fight and
put him in. here's how it went down, this may help:

Attack Pink first. Have Mario focus on her and use Lazy Shell, while
Mallow casts Thunderbolt (or Shocker if you have him wearing the Scrooge
Ring). If you choose to use Shocker, it hurts more, but using
Thunderbolt will help
take out Axem Black as well, and Pink can't heal two at a time. Clobber
Green and Red next, using Snowy from Mallow. Use Toadstool's healing
abilities when needed, and have her drink a Maple Syrup when the FP
needs a
boost. Green will fall first, then finish off Red. Back to Axem Black,
he'll
fall in a short time if you used Thunderbolt when battling Pink. A few
Shockers will take him out, and have Mario kick the Lazy Shell when it's
his
turn. Stomp Yellow with Super or Ultra Jump (THIS is why you should
attack
Yellow last, as Ultra Jump will have no one else to damage with its high
power except Yellow), and have Mallow heal or use timed hits, while
Toadstool heals and replenishes FP. For the Blade ship (Axem Rangers),
just
have Mallow use Shocker, Mario use Lazy Shell, and Toadstool heal the
turns
after the Breaker Beam is used, and attack any other time. It will be a
short battle.

Chester

HP: 500
Weakness: Jump attacks
Immune To: Everything but Jump
Level: 25 or higher

Bahamutt

HP: 1200
Weakness: Ice
Immune To: Fire, Fear, Sleep
Level: 25 or higher

Another deadly duo, similar to Fautso and Box Boy. You meet them after
one of the "Fight" doors in Bowser's Keep. Bringing Mallow to this fight
is helpful (switch him in once you fight four Vomers). Have Mario jump
Chester while Mallow concentrates on defeating Bahamutt with Snowy. They
will release some nasty attacks but should fall to your might.

MagiKoopa
HP: 1400
Weakness: None
Immune To: Status conditions
Level: 25 or higher

He's pretty easy, actually. Every now and then, he'll call on other
monsters to help him, like King Bomb and Jinx Clone (wow!). Defeat the
enemies and you'll be able to attack Magikoopa again. Pummel him with
your best attacks.

Michael Martinac tells me: You can defend against the King Bomb and let
him use Big Bang, because then Magikoopa will still think he his hidden
and not attack. I haven't confirmed this myself.

Boomer

HP: 2000
Weakness: Varies
Immune To: Status effects
Level: 25 or higher

Boomer has a lot of HP, but is pretty easy if you know how to take him
out. Use physical attacks when he turns blue, and magic when he turns
red. Bowser and the Princess are a good team for this fight, and will be
helpful in the upcoming fight against Exor.

Exor

HP: 1800
Weakness: None
Immune To: Thunder, Status effects
Level: 26 or higher

Left Eye

HP: 300
Weakness: Jump and Fire
Immune To: Thunder, Sleep
Level: 26 or higher

Right Eye

HP: 500
Weakness: Jump and Fire
Immune To: Thunder, Sleep
Level: 26 or higher

Neosquid (The mouth...I have no idea why they called it Neosquid)

HP: 800
Weakness: None
Immune To: Sleep
Level: 26 or higher

The main target is Exor, but he is well defended by a shield generated
by the eyes. Neosquid and Exor do most of the attacking, while the eyes
keep the shield up. Take out the eyes first to lower Exor's defenses,
and get in a few good hits before Exor revives them. You can also take
out the mouth, but Exor will revive it after a few turns. Just take out
the eyes, heal after every attack, and nail Exor. It will take a while
but soon he'll be toast.

For the easiest way to beat him, bring Geno into this fight. Knock out
one of the eyes so that the shield is deactivated, then time a Geno
Whirl attack to Exor (the top of the sword). If you do it right, you
should snuff him in one hit. Many thanks to candace_g@earthlink.net for
this bit.

Countdown

HP: 2400
Weakness: Jump, Thunder
Immune To: Status conditions
Level: 27 or higher

Ding-a-Ling

HP: 1200
Weakness: Ice
Immune To: Fear, Poison, Silence
Level: 27 or higher

You'll fight two Ding-A-Lings, which attack weakly but often, and
Countdown, who heals often and uses some nasty attacks like Aurora Beam.
Take out Countdown first to give you a great advantage against the two
Ding-A-Lings. Watch out for their instant death attack, though.

Domino

HP: 900
Weakness: Fire
Immune To: Status Conditions
Level: 28 or higher

Cloaker

HP: 1200
Weakness: None
Immune To: Status Conditions
Level: 28 or higher

You'll fight both of these guys at the same time. Who you defeat
determines who you'll fight next. If you defeat Cloaker, you'll fight
Domino and the Mad Adder. If you defeat Domino, you'll fight Cloaker and
the Earthlink. Domino is easier to beat, but it's your call.

Mad Adder

HP: 1500
Weakness: none
Immune To: Status conditions
Level: 28 or higher

Earthlink

HP: 2500
Weakness: None
Immune To: Status Conditions
Level: 28 or higher

For both the Mad Adder and Earthlink, don't bother attacking
Cloaker/Domino. Just attack EarthLink or Mad Adder and soon you'll win.
It's much easier than trying to beat both of them. Both of them have
some pretty nasty attacks, so heal up often.

Many thanks to Michael Martinac for catching my mistake in this section.

Clerk

HP: 500
Weakness: None
Immune To: None
Level: 28 or higher

Clerk isn't very tough. Just attack him, then take out his flunkies.
Defeating his flunkies will only allow him to call in more to replace
them. His 500 HP will be drained before you know it.

Manager

HP: 800
Weakness: None
Immune To: None
Level: 28 or higher

Manager is very similar to Clerk. Just take him out, then his flunkies.
His attack power is a little higher but still nothing to worry about.

Director

HP: 1000
Weakness: Thunder
Immune To: Status effects
Level: 28 or higher

Director is similar to Clerk and Manager before him. Just follow the
same strategy as last time. His attacks are pretty strong, so have some
healing source ready.

Factory Chief

HP: 1000
Weakness: Ice
Immune To: Thunder
Level: 29 or higher

Gun Yolk

HP: 1500
Weakness: Thunder
Immune To: Fire
Level: 29 or higher

No, Factory chief is not another pallete swap of the dude in armor. In
fact, his assistant, Gun Yolk, is much tougher than the last three
bosses. His attacks are powerful and he has a lot of defense. I highly
reccomend bringing Mallow to this fight and using Shocker on Gun Yolk.
Have Mario jump the factory chief and Gun Yolk, while the remaining
character heals and attacks.

Another strategy is to bring Toadstool along and use her Silence attack
to stop the Gun Yolk's nasty Breaker Beam attack. Many thanks to
Allizdog14@aol.com for this bit.

Smithy

HP: 2000
Weakness: None
Immune To: Status effects
Level: 30

Smelter

HP: 1500
Weakness: Thunder
Immune To: Fire, status effects
Level: 30

I reccomend Toadstool and Mallow. Smithy is the main enemy here, he can
unload nasty attacks on your team. Smelter does not attack, but every
now and then will unleash an enemy called Shyper that does powerful
spells against your team. Have Mallow use Shocker on the Smelter while
the other teammates attack Smithy. After a lengthy battle, Smithy will
plunge you and your teammates into a pit and show his true form.

Smithy Body

HP: 1000
Weakness: None
Immune To: Status effects
Level: 30

Smithy Head

HP: 8000
Weakness: Varies
Immune To: Status Effects
Level: 30

Smithy's head will randomly change form into one of four different
forms. It becomes a magician-looking thing, a mask, a tank, and a
treasure box. The magician uses powerful spells and has high magic
defense, but has low defense. The mask has high defense but is weak
against Ice, the Tank has high attack power but is weak against Thunder,
and the Treasure casts a random status effect on the party, but is weak
against fire. Have Mallow and Mario attack with spells that the heads
are weak against, and have Toadstool heal. It's a lengthy fight, but
after a while you should win if you just outlast it.

NOW THE SECRET BOSS, CULEX FROM FF4!

Culex

HP: 4096
Weakness: None
Immune To: Ice, Status effects
Level: 27 or higher

Fire Crystal

HP: 2500
Weakness: Ice
Immune To: Fire, status effects
Level: 27 or higher

Earth Crystal

HP: 3200
Weakness: Thunder
Immune To: Jump, status effects
Level: 27 or higher

Water Crystal

HP: 1800
Weakness: Fire
Immune To: Ice, status effects
Level: 27 or higher

Wind Crystal

HP: 800
Weakness: Jump
Immune To: Thunder, status effects
Level: 27 or higher

This guy is incredibly tough. Not only does he outnumber you with the
four crystals in tow, his attacks are very powerful! Use a Crystalline
and Power Blast to fix that. A good strategy is to stock up Rock Candies
and use them all right at the beginning. If you're lucky, you might get
a "freebie" and thus be able to use even more. I reccomend bringing
Mallow and Toadstool. Have Mallow and Mario take out the crystals, and
have Peach heal. Once they're all gone, attack Culex with your best
attacks. Try timing some Ultra Jumps and Star Rains for the most damage.
If you manage to beat him, you get a cool FF2 victory music, a lot of
experience, and the Quartz Charm.

An easier way to beat him is to get the Lazy Shell armor and equip it on
Toadstool. With this gear on, she'll be nearly invincible. Just bring
along Mallow as well and nuke the crystals with elemental attacks, then
beat on Culex until he's toast. You can beat him at a much lower level,
around 17 or 18, using this strategy, but it will take much longer to
do. Many thanks to candace_g@earthlink.net for this bit.

Other notes

The Super Jacket (obtained by talking to the Pandorite in Monstro Town
after getting 100 jumps in a row with Ultra Jump) protects one character
from all status effects and gives their stats a major boost too. If you
can get it, make use of it!

The Attack Scarf also boosts all your stats considerably, but only Mario
can equip it. You get it from talking to the dog in Monstro Town after
getting 30 jumps in a row.

Many thanks to Michael Martinac for these hints.

Other Notes

Mario is potentially the best character if you can get the right gear.
Equip him with the Lazy Shell, Hero Shirt, and Attack Scarf, then cast
Geno Boost on him in battle. He will do in excess of 500 damage per
turn, which means he could potentially take out Culex in as few as eight
turns!
