Version 1.3(12/02/01)- A lot of work finished today. I'm almost done with the
teams sections, and I should be moving on the strategies section soon. After
that, I'll revamp the FAQ and it'll be done. The date for the team's section
being done is being pushed back. I have a lot of other stuff to do. After
all, I am going to school. I consider this great progress. The target date
for the FAQ's completion is still around Christmas. No school=more time to
work.
Stuff to do: Finish the Players section.
Start and Finish the Strategies section.
Finish out the FAQ section, I've gotten around a dozen e-mails
I need to add to the section.

Version 1.2 (11/30/01)- Major formatting error. Allegedly, the margins on
GameFAQs are narrower then mine. I have to completely redo the players
section. Give it some time, everything will eventually be done. I hope to be
at least up to the Mariners by the weekend. I hope to have the entire guide
done before Christmas.

Version 1.1 (11/28/01)- Worked on the Players section. It's mammoth, so it'll
take a few weeks to complete. Will start the Strategies section when I'm done
with the players. Also need to do the FAQ section. The Legal and Contact Me
sections need some tweaking, so I'll have to get started on that. Whew, a lot
of work. I hope to be finished with the players by next Sunday, and the entire
FAQ before Christmas.

Version 1.0 (11/27/01)- First version of this FAQ.
Sections done: Introduction, Controls, Game modes, Cheats, Disclaimer, Contact
Me, and My Personal Review.
Sections left: Strategies, Players, and FAQ.

This is my World Series Baseball 2K2 FAQ for Dreamcast. It's one of my
favorite games, and deserves a good FAQ. This is my first FAQ, and more will
be coming soon. This FAQ was made so you could learn the basics of the game,
as well as strategies. It gives you vital information on players, so you could
crush your friends as well as opponents.

|\_____________________________\
| | Controls |
|//

On Offense:
"A"- Swings the bat.
"X"- Advances the baserunner. If you have a man on a base and want him to
steal, you press "X" before the pitcher throws or when he's winding up to
advance the runner. If you hit the ball into play, the "X" button is used to
advance the runner extra bases.
"Y"- Used to bunt. A guide on bunting is in the Strategies section.
"B"- Used to move a runner back a base. For example, you hit a shallow fly
into center and you press "X" to advance the runner to 2nd base, then decide to
move him back to first. You use "B" to retreat him back.
"R"- If you hold R before the pitcher winds up, you'll get a big hitting
cursor. The cursor shows up later then normal, but you'll get an easier hit if
you time your swing right.
"L"- Does nothing during offense.
"Analog Stick"- Moves the hitting cursor around.

On Defense when a player has the ball:
"A"- Throw the ball to home plate.
"X"- Throw the ball to 3rd base.
"Y"- Throw the ball to 2nd base.
"B"- Throw the ball to 1st base.
"L"- Does nothing during defense when a player has the ball.
"R"- Does nothing during defense when a player has the ball.
"Analog Stick"- Moves the player around.

On Defense while pitching:
"A"- Throws the ball, tapping it causes the pitcher to throw slow, conserving
stamina. Holding it causes the pitcher to throw hard. It increases the
chances of a strikeout, but drains stamina faster.
"B"- After you select your pitch, and you have the strike zone on your screen,
you can use "B" to throw the ball to a base. Pick your pitch, then move the
analog stick in the direction you want to throw. For example, up throws it to
2nd, right throws it to 1st, etc. Move the analog stick in the direction you
want to throw to and hit "B". The pitcher will throw it to the corresponding
base.
"Y"- Used to bean someone or intentionally walk someone. If you want to bean
someone, move the analog stick so the pitch cursor is around their head and
press "Y". If you want to throw a ball, move it away from the batter and hit
"Y". You can only throw a ball or bean someone after you select your pitch.
"X"- Does nothing on defense while pitching.
"L"- Cycles through the defense options.
"R"- Cycles through the defense options.
"Analog Stick"- Used to select the pitch and used to place the pitch anywhere
in the strike zone. The pitch selector is on the bottom right or left hand
corner of your screen. You move the analog stick in the direction of your
pitch. For example, if your pitcher has a curveball and you want to throw it
move the analog stick to the right and press "A". Then you move the baseball
anywhere in the strike zone and press "A" again to pitch it.

On Defense while chasing the ball:
"A"- Dive for the ball.
"B"- Cycle through the players on the field.
"X"- Cycle through the players on the field.
"Y"- Jumps up for the ball. Used to snag a fly ball that's just over the wall.
"L"- Does nothing on defense while chasing the ball.
"R"- Does nothing on defense while chasing the ball.
"Analog Stick"- Moves the highlighted player around.

During Instant Replays
"A"- Starts the instant replay.
"B"- Zooms out.
"X"- Zooms in.
"Y"- Turns the controls for the instant replay function on or off.
"L"- Cycle frames back. It's pressure-sensitive, so the harder you push the
button down, the faster it'll rewind.
"R"- Cycle frames forward. It's pressure-sensitive, so the harder you push the
button down, the faster it'll rewind.
"Analog Stick"- Move the camera angle around.
"D-Pad"- Move the camera around. You can lock it on a player or the ball, and
it'll automatically follow it. You can also manually move it.
"Start"- Leave the instant replay mode.

| | Game Modes |
|//

Quick Start- A regular exhibition game. You don't select the teams. Instead,
the game picks random teams. The difficulty level on here is rookie. It's
your token 9-inning baseball game. You don't tweak any options in this mode.

Exhibition- A regular game. The announcer calls it a pre-season game. You're
allowed to change your teams and options in this mode, unlike the Quick Start
mode.
After you select Exhibition it takes you to the team select screen. You use
the analog stick to cycle through the away team, and hit A to go change the
home team. Pressing X will take you to the menu screen, where you can change a
number of things.
You can change the stadium. You can toggle the difficulty level between
rookie, pro, and all-star. You can change the number of innings in a game, and
you can change the Designated Hitter option.

Playoffs- So you don't want to play the full 162 game season, huh? You want to
go straight for the excitement. Well I don't blame you. You pick the number
of teams in the playoffs and the format. The normal format is 5-5-7, but you
can change it to suit your needs. You can also change the Designated Hitter
option. On the next screen, you select the teams you want in your series'.
You pick the teams you want to control and hit start. It takes you to the
playoffs mode menu, where you can do a number of things.
The first option is the Play Game option. If you select it, it'll take you to
the Playoff Tree where you can use A to play or simulate a game. You hit B to
go back, and Y for the help menu.
The second option is the Statistics option, and it opens to a playoff
statistics submenu. The first option on the submenu is the team statistics.
The team statistics shows you the stats for each team in the league during the
playoffs. You use R and L to toggle between leagues. It gives you the batting
average, slugging percentages, on base percentage, at bats, hits, doubles,
triples, home runs, RBIs, runs, strikeouts, and stolen bases.
The league leaders option shows you the leaders of the league in a designated
category. You hit R to toggle between leagues, and the analog stick to scroll
between leaders. It gives you the leaders for the following options: batting
average, home runs, hits, RBIs, runs, stolen bases, doubles, triples, most wins
(for pitchers), most losses (for pitchers), most innings pitched, ERA leaders,
save leaders, and strike out leaders (for pitchers).
The player statistics option shows you the stats for each play on a team. You
use R to toggle between teams, and analog stick to scroll through players and
stats. This feature gives you the position, games played, batting average, at
bats, runs, hits, doubles, triples, home runs, RBIs, slugging percentage, on
base percentage, strike outs, and stolen bases for each player.
The next option is the setup option. It allows you to change the
user-controlled teams in the playoffs. You use R and L to designate the user
of the team to CPU or User.
The next option is the save game option, and one after that is the quit option,
which quits the playoff mode.

Season- The cream of the crop. You select the number of players, the season
length, the fantasy draft, the schedule format, the game difficulty, and the
designated hitter options.
The fantasy draft is fun, because it allows the teams to be more even and gives
you a chance to try out different combinations of players. The rigid schedule
format makes you play the games in order, while the flexible one lets you play
the games in any order you want. On the next screen, you select the team(s)
you want to play with. If you selected the fantasy draft, the next screen lets
you pick your players. After that, it takes you to the season menu. The
managing menu takes you to the season management sub-menu, where you make the
team decisions. You select the pitching order, and drop pitchers or activate
them from the minors. The lineups option allows you to customize your team's
starting lineup, The minors option allows you to demote players and promote
minor league players. The trade option allows you to trade with other teams.
The CPU has the option to accept or decline a trade, so only make trades
that'll benefit both sides. The free agents menu lets you sign free agents on
your team. Sometimes there are some goodies here, so check it out every so
often. The injuries menu allows you to monitor the league's injuries. The
news menu keeps you up-to-date on trades, activations, demotions, etc. That's
all in the management menu. The schedule option lets you play your games. It
takes you to a 10-month calendar with all your team's games on it and allows
you to simulate or play games. The statistics menu opens up to a sub-menu
containing team statistics, team standings, league leaders, player statistics,
and all-star voting. The team statistics menu shows you the stats for each
team in the league. It shows you the team batting average, slugging
percentage, on-base percentage, games, at bats, hits, doubles, triples, home
runs, RBIs, runs, strikeouts, and stolen bases. Good for picking out the best
team in the league. The team standings option shows you the team standings for
the league, pretty self-explanatory. You use the analog stick to cycle between
divisions, and "R" to cycle between leagues. This option shows the wins,
losses, percentage, games behind, last ten game results, and streak for each
team. It's useful for deciding whether or not you're making the playoffs. The
league leaders option shows you the leaders for each option. You use "R" to
cycle between leagues. It shows you the batting average leaders, the home run
leaders, the hit leaders, the RBI leaders, the run leaders, the stolen base
leaders, the doubles leaders, the triples leaders, the most wins leaders, the
most losses leaders, the most innings pitched leaders, the ERA leaders, the
save leaders, and the strike out leaders (for pitchers). The player statistics
options show you the stats for each player on your team. You can use "R" to
cycle between each team. It gives you the position, the games player, and
batting average, the number of at bats, the runs, the hits, the doubles, the
triples, the home runs, the RBIs, the slugging percentage, the on base
percentage, the strike-outs, and the number of stolen bases. The all-star
voting option shows you who's in the lead for an all-star position. You use
"R" to toggle the leagues, and the analog stick to switch positions. That's it
for the statistics menu, now onto the news. The news option shows you the same
thing as the news option in the management sub-menu. The custom option let's
you change the presentation of the game. That's basically it for the season
option.

Franchise- The franchise mode is a lot like the season mode, except it's spaced
out over more then 1 season. When the season is over, it gives you the
off-season news. You have to draft players and sign free agents. It's harder
then the season mode, but it's also very fun. If you need the controls for the
options, look above at the season mode, because they're virtually the same.

Network- The network mode is used for Online play. You need a phone line
connection or a Broadband Adapter, Ethernet Card, and Broadband modem to play
if you have a Cable or DSL connection.

Home Run Derby- This is fun. You pick the number of players, the difficulty,
the stadium, and the number of pitches. Then you pick the players you want to
hit with, and start the Derby. It's too easy on rookie, and too hard on pro.
If you pick rookie, it automatically sets the bat in the right position and all
you have to do is swing. On pro you have to compete with players who hit 9/10
homeruns and you have to do it manually.

Custom- You can edit a number of things here. First, the presentation. You
can customized the sound options here. You use the load file option to load a
season file from your VMU. You probably know what the save changes button
does. The credits options show you the game developers. The user high scores
and user records are pretty self-explanatory, just select it and you'll figure
it out in a few seconds. The create a player option is very cool. First you
type in the name, then select the position, number, and appearance. You pick
whether he throws lefty or righty, bats lefty or righty, and his height and
weight. Then you pick if he wears sunglasses, smears that black stuff under
his eye, his skin color, his undershirt style, his elbow protector, his
fielding glove style, his batting glove color, his wristband, his bat color,
his shoes, and his shin guard. Then you pick his stats, like hitting, power,
speed, and arm strength. You can max out everyone's stats except the
pitcher's. For the pitcher, you pick things like hitting and the pitches. If
you leave one of the pitches with no stats, he won't be able to throw that
pitch.

                        |C H H|
                        |_____|

2B-Adam Kennedy-#2- _____ - Overall good hitter. Good 2B as well. Wait

                        |C C C| excellent hitter. Wait for the low pitch
                        |H H H| and he'll crush it Very good at 3B as well,
                        |C H C| he's one of the best.
                        |_____|

SS-David Eckstein-#22- _____ - Actually pretty good. Smash the low-inside
                        |N C N| pitches with him. He's a bad fielder
                        |N N N| though, you'll want to stick with Gil.
                        |N N N|
                        |_____|

SS-Bengi Gil-#10- _____ - Good hitter, even though his zone doesn't
                        |N N C| show it. I managed to get a few doubles with
                        |N H N| him. He isn't too fast, but his power makes
                        |C N N| up for it.
                        |_____|

                        |_____|

LF-Orlando Palmeiro-#3- _____ - Use him as a DH. He's a nice hitter, but OK
                        |N H C| at defense. Stick with Garret Anderson as
                        |C H C| your starter.
                        |C C H|
                        |_____|

CF-Kimera Bartee-#46- _____ - An average batter. I haven't really played
                        |N N N| with him. He runs pretty fast, though.
                        |N N N| He's an average fielder.
                        |N N N|
                        |_____|

CF-Darin Erstad-#17- _____ - A good hitter, fast base-runner, and very
                        |C H C| good fielder. Go for the medium height
                        |N H H| pitches, and go for the extra bases when you
                        |C C H| can.
                        |_____|

RF-Tim Salmon-#15- _____ - Don't swing at anything high. He'll miss
                        |C C C| it. Wait for the low or medium-height
                        |H H H| pitch. Good at defense and average at
                        |C H C| offense.
                        |_____|

SP-Ramon Ortiz-#36- Fastball: 93 - Your average starting pitcher.
Slider: 76 You'll use that fastball a lot,
                            Change-up: 61 as well as the Slider/Sinker
                            Sinker: 77 combo.

SP-Pat Rapp-#34- Fastball: 89 - Has a nice fastball and
Slider: 42 curveball. Rely on those pitches
Curveball: 82 for your 1-2 punch.
                            Change-up: 51

SP-Ismael Valdes-#59- Fastball: 88 - Good fastball and curveball
Curveball: 89 again. Him and Rapp are alike.
                            Change-up: 47 Don't throw the Change-up,
                            Sinker: 52 they'll get a hit.

SP-Jarrod Washburn-#56- Fastball: 92 - Another Fastball/Curveball
Slider: 75 pitcher. He's pretty good, and
Curveball: 81 has a nice breaking curveball.
                            Change-up: 68

SP-Scott Schoeneweis-#60- Fastball: 84 - Nice pitcher. All his pitches
Slider: 82 are good. You can really mess up
Change-up: 76 the batter with a combination of
                            Sinker: 85 pitches.

LR-Lou Pote-#58- Fastball: 95 - Avoid this guy. You'll get
Slider: 51 nowhere with a fastball. You
Change-up: 28 need another good pitch.

LR-Al Levine-#43- Fastball: 89 - Not too bad. A nice 3-pitch
Slider: 79 combo. Use him around the fifth
                            Change-up: 80 inning.
                            Sinker: 56

MR-Ben Weber-#77- Fastball: 94 - Avoid this guy as well. He
Slider: 50 sucks. Use anyone besides him
                            Sinker: 36 and Pote.

MR-Shigetoshi Hasegawa-#21- Fastball: 87 - Average pitcher. Nothing special
Slider: 78 here. Your token middle
                            Change-up: 74 reliever.
                            Forkball: 67

SU-Mike Holtz-#65- Fastball: 91 - Almost bad. His change-up is
Slider: 37 pretty good, and should confuse a
                            Change-up: 82 few batters.

CL-Troy Percival-#40- Fastball: 99 - This is the guy you want to use.
Slider: 88 Nice pitches, but stamina wears
Curveball: 86 down fast. 2 innings at most.

Arizona Diamondbacks:

C- Scott Patterson-#32- _____ - This guy is the better catcher, but a
                          |C C C| picky hitter. He'll only hit the mid-
                          |N H H| pitches. He's a gem on defense though,
                          |C H N| so start him.
                          |_____|

C- Rod Barajas-#48- _____ - All I could say is he's a mediocre
                          |N N N| player, you're not going to find
                          |N H N| anything special here. Start Patterson
                          |N C N|
                          |_____|

1B-Greg Colbrunn-#28- _____ - Start Grace. He's the best of the 3
                          |C N C| 1st-basemen on this team. Colbrunn is
                          |H H H| average on offense and below average
                          |C H C| defense. He has a slow throw.
                          |_____|

1B-Erubiel Durazo-#44- _____ - The real Erubeil doesn't do justice to
                          |C H C| his counterpart in this game. He rules
                          |N H H| in this game. Still stick with Grace at
                          |C N H| first though.
                          |_____|

1B-Mark Grace-#17- _____ - Better hitter then Erubiel, even though
                          |C N C| his stats don't show it. I can nail a
                          |N H N| double 2 out of 3 times with this guy. A
                          |C N H| very good hitter in this game.
                          |_____|

2B-Craig Counsell-#4- _____ - Only good at the low, inside fastball.
                          |N N C| Can't really hit anything else. Start
                          |N H C| Bell, he's better at defense and
                          |N N H| offense.
                          |_____|

2B-Jay Bell-#33- _____ - Pretty good hitter, but defense is his
                          |C H C| specialty. You're going to want to start
                          |H H H| him if you're facing a good hitting team.
                          |C H C|
                          |_____|

3B-Matt Williams-#9- _____ - Has a couple red-hot zones. That's the
                          |C H N| dead center one and the lower-left one.
                          |C H C| You'll want to swing at anything in that
                          |H C C| area. Not too bad at defense either.
                          |_____|

SS-Tony Womack-#5- _____ - Average hitter in this game. This game
                          |C N C| doesn't do justice to his abilities in
                          |H H H| the world series. Good on defense in
                          |C H C| this game.
                          |_____|

LF-Luis Gonzalez-#20- _____ - He's got the golf like swing. Take
                          |C N C| anything inside and low. He'll get a hit
                          |N H H| 85% of the time if you know how to use
                          |C H H| him.
                          |_____|

LF-David Dellucci-#25- _____ - Not your starter, but a good backup.
                          |N N C| Speedy, so he's your best option for a
                          |N H N| pinch-hitter Nothing much else to say
                          |N C H| about him.
                          |_____|

CF-Steve Finley-#12- _____ - Swing at anything in the strike zone
                          |C H C| because he'll put it in play. Rarely
                          |H H H| strikes out, and has a sparkling .280
                          |C H H| average. He'll hit .300 during a season
                          |_____| though.

RF-Reggie Sanders-#16- _____ - Average hitter. He's the better of the
                          |C N N| two right fielders, so start him instead
                          |N H N| of Bautista. He's better at defense too,
                          |N N C| and boy could he run.
                          |_____|

RF-Danny Bautista-#29- _____ - Very good at those 3 hot zones, but
                          |C C C| pitchers throw high to him for obvious
                          |N H H| reasons. He'll develop in the next few
                          |C H N| seasons, so keep your eye on him.
                          |_____|

SP-Brian Anderson-#34- Fastball: 89 - Brute speed ain't everything. His
Slider: 90 curveball drops a foot and gets a
Curveball: 98 high swing everytime. A good 3rd-
                          Change-up: 86 strike pitch.

SP-Todd Stottlemyre-#30- Fastball: 93 - Good pitcher, another fine addition
Slider: 87 to the D-Backs pitching staff. All
Curveball: 87 off his pitches contribute to
                          Change-up: 78 fooling the batter.

SP-Curt Schilling-#38- Fastball: 97 - And you wonder why this guy is so
Slider: 97 good. No explanation necessary.
Sinker: 94 Oh wait, use him.
                          Splitter: 98

SP-Armando Reynoso-#27- Fastball: 89 - An average addition to the bullpen.
Curveball: 90 You'll find yourself using him for
                          Change-up: 52 relief in a season.
                          Sinker: 72

SP-Randy Johnson-#51- Fastball: 99 - Arguably the best pitcher in the
Curveball: 99 league. Him and Pedro rule this
Slider: 98 game. You up your chances of
Sinker: 98 winning by 50% with him.

LR-Mike Morgan-#36- Fastball: 89 - An OK pitcher. Nothing special.
Slider: 74 Use him when your starter is
                          Sinker: 73 jammed.

MR-Greg Swindell-#22- Fastball: 90 - Pretty good. The Fastball and
                          Change-up: 90 Change-up are good for the 1/2
Forkball: 72 punch. Forkball isn't bad.

MR-Bret Prinz-#41- Fastball: 97 - Not too good. The Fastball and
Slider: 86 Slider give him the edge. He's
                          Sinker: 42 easy to predict.

MR-Russ Springer-#46- Fastball: 96 - Another middling player. Avoid him
Curveball: 84 unless you need raw power from the
                          Splitter: 26 fastball.

SU-Byung-Hung Kim-#49- Fastball: 96 - Very good. Should provide with the
Slider: 93 relief you need. Your first choice
                          Sinker: 91 for a closer/reliever.

CL-Matt Mantei-#31- Fastball: 99 - Isn't too balanced. Stick with
Slider: 87 Kim, who'll fool more hitters.
Curveball: 81 He's an average closer.

Atlanta Braves:

C- Javy Lopez-#8- _____ - Starting catcher. Hits pretty well, but
                          |C H C| his pickoff move is lacking. Most runners
                          |N H N| can steal off him easily. Consider giving
                          |N H H| him half of the season and Perez the other
                          |_____| half.

C- Eddie Perez-#12- _____ - Decent hitter, but below average at
                          |C N N| defense. Use him if you need the base-
                          |N H N| hits. Has a .182 average, but I picked up
                          |N N C| .298 over a season.
                          |_____|

1B-Rico Brogna-#2- _____ - Bad at the high pitches. He's the starter
                          |C C C| because of his defense, so don't expect to
                          |H H H| hit really well with him. He had a .232
                          |C N H| average.
                          |_____|

1B-Wes Helms-#18- _____ - Not really good at anything. Start
                          |N N N| Brogna, and save this guy for any injured
                          |N H N| player. I guess you could pinch-run with
                          |N C N| him if you get a pitcher on base.
                          |_____|

2B-Quivilo Veras-#4- _____ - Your starting second baseman. Average on
                          |C H N| offense but beautiful on defense. Had
                          |C H C| virtually no errors all season. He's
                          |C C H| a fast base-runner as well.
                          |_____|

2B-Keith Lockhart-#7- _____ - A good DH. He's a good hitter and should
                          |N H N| be used at those AL fields. Start Veras,
                          |C H C| and trade this guy if you don't need him,
                          |C C H| because you could get someone useful.
                          |_____|

3B-Ken Caminiti-#11- _____ - Good hitter. Another option for DH.
                          |C N C| since Chipper is obviously your starter,
                          |H H H| trade him. You could get a good pitcher
                          |C H H| for him. Has a .303 batting average.
                          |_____|

3B-Chipper Jones-#10- _____ - One of the most consistent hitters in the
                          |C N C| league. Has a .300+ average every year.
                          |N H H| One of the best 3rd-basemen in the sport.
                          |C H H| Not too fast though.
                          |_____|

SS-Raphael Furcal-#1- _____ - Another gem on defense. Dead-center
                          |N N C| fastball hitter on defense, but his
                          |N H N| skills are lacking. He's pretty
                          |C N H| speedy, don't be afraid to run extra
                          |_____| bases.

LF-B.J. Surhoff-#15- _____ - Swing at anything inside, he's one of the
                          |C H C| players with the golf-like swing.
                          |N H H| Another fine addition to the Braves
                          |C C H| lineup. Has around a .300 average.
                          |_____|

LF-Dave Martinez-#14- _____ - Average player. Fastest guy on the team
                          |C H H| though. He's as fast as Ichiro. Use him
                          |C H C| as your main pinch-runner.
                          |C C H|
                          |_____|

CF-Andruw Jones-#25- _____ - One of your power hitters, he'll
                          |C N C| absolutely crush the ball. Very good on
                          |H H H| defense as well. One of the top-ranked
                          |C H C| outfielders.
                          |_____|

RF-Bernard Gilkey-#23- _____ - Used to be good. Now just another has-
                          |C N N| been. Bats a painful .177. Release him
                          |N H N| and pick up someone with potential.
                          |N N C|
                          |_____|

RF-Brian Jordan-#33- _____ - Strikes out a lot, but when he puts
                          |C N C| contact on the ball it's usually a base
                          |H H H| hit. Speedy, and good on defense too.
                          |C H C| That combination earns him the starting
                          |_____| spot.

SP-John Smoltz-#29- Fastball: 96 - Awesome pitcher. His Knuckleball
Slider: 96 leaves something to be desired
Change-up: 97 for, but don't let that screw you
Knuckle: 34 up. The first three are great.

SP-John Burkett-#19- Fastball: 83 - Not too bad. He's well-rounded.
Slider: 75 His Fastball/Curveball provide for
Curveball: 86 the first 2 strikes most of the
                           Change-up: 78 time.

SP-Tom Glavine-#47- Fastball: 96 - God, will the Braves pitching wave
Slider: 94 ever end? Nothing to say here,
Change-up: 99 he's another one of the best.
                           Sinker: 94

SP-Greg Maddux-#31- Fastball: 89 - Control-master. Can put the ball
Slider: 96 anywhere he wants. Definitely
                           Curveball: 96 your prominent pitcher.
                           Change-up: 96

SP-Kevin Millwood-#34- Fastball: 96 - Another Curveball master. Throw
Slider: 86 anything at the batter, they'll be
Curveball: 97 stumped. Another good pitcher.
                           Change-up: 87

LR-Odalis Perez-#45- Fastball: 95 - The only way you're going to do
Slider: 47 some damage with him is by using
Curveball: 66 power pitches (hold A while
Sinker: 48 pitching). Decent at most.

LR-Jason Marquis-#38- Fastball: 98 - You're better off letting your
Slider: 76 starter go the whole 9 innings.
Curveball: 76 He's another commonplace pitcher.
                           Change-up: 44

MR-Steve Reed-#36- Fastball: 90 - One of the better relievers. Use
Slider: 85 him as your first choice. All of
Change-up: 84 his pitches should do some damage.
                           Sinker: 84

MR-John Salwitz-#51- Fastball: 94 - The Fastball might help you if you
Slider: 83 know how to use it, but the
Splitter: 57 Splitter is a piece of crap.

SU-Mike Remlinger-#37- Fastball: 95 - Not too bad. Would be better if
Slider: 84 he had a Sinker. You can fool the
Change-up: 85 batter with a combo of pitches.

CL-Steve Karsay-#20- Fastball: 98 - His Fastball/Curveball should be
Curveball: 96 all you need for the last inning
Splitter: 83 of work. Pretty good closer.

Baltimore Orioles:

C- Fernando Lunar-#51- _____ - Pretty sucky. .171 average, no
                            |C N N| defense skills whatsoever, and no power.
                            |N H N| He can run pretty fast though, so I
                            |N N N| guess that's why he's on the team.
                            |_____|

C- Brook Fordyce-#26- _____ - A .300 hitter. He's good at hitting
                            |C N H| line-drives into the outfield. He's an
                            |C H H| average catcher, but his hitting got him
                            |C H N| the starting position. Not as fast as
                            |_____| Lunar, though.

1B-David Sequi-#23- _____ - Another average hitter. Good at
                            |C N C| defense, I made a nice diving play with
                            |N H H| him. Start Gibbons or him, whoever you
                            |C N H| wish.
                            |_____|

1B-Jay Gibbons-#25- _____ - Not bad for a backup. He's got some
                            |C H C| power, but he's terribly slow. Start
                            |N H H| him if you need power, starts Sequi if
                            |C N H| you need defense.
                            |_____|

2B-Jerry Hairston-#15- _____ - Don't really know much about him. He's
                            |C N C| a pretty good fielder, and he has a .256
                            |N H N| average. There's no other 2B to compete
                            |N N N| with, so I can't compare him to other
                            |_____| players.

3B-Tony Batista-#7- _____ - Only reason he didn't start is because
                            |N N C| of Ripken. He has power, speed, and
                            |H H C| agility. Play him at 2B if you wish,
                            |H H C| because he's better then Hairston.
                            |_____|

3B-Cal Ripken Jr.-#8- _____ - Ah, the Ironman. He still has it, and
                            |N N C| the game shows it. He's a good hitter
                            |H H C| and an excellent fielder in this game.
                            |N H C| One of the legendary 3B/Shortstops in
                            |_____| the game.

SS-Mike Bordick-#14- _____ - Very good power hitter. Good on
                            |C C N| defense, has an excellent arm, but not a
                            |N H N| fast runner. He's one of the best
                            |H H C| Shortstops in the MLB.
                            |_____|

LF-Chris Richard-#38- _____ - Average hitter, but what gave him the
                            |C H C| starting position was his defense.
                            |H H C| Has a nice batting average, which means
                            |N N H| he puts a lot of contact on the ball.
                            |_____|

LF-Mike Kinkade-#17- _____ - Has the talent. He's a .333 hitter.
                            |N H N| It's a toss-up between him and Richard.
                            |C H N| It's pretty much your choice, you have
                            |N C N| to decide whether you want offense or
                            |_____| defense.

LF-Eugene Kingsale-#40- _____ - Good at defense, below average on
                            |N N C| offense. I got a double with him, but
                            |N H N| he almost got tagged out. He's not
                            |N C H| really too fast, but he'll do as a
                            |_____| backup.

CF-Melvin Mora-#6- _____ - Good hitter, has a .275 average. Also a
                            |C C N| good fielder, and pretty quick. An
                            |N H C| overall fine player. He has potential.
                            |H N N|
                            |_____|

RF-Jeff Conine-#18- _____ - Another good hitter. He's your DH at
                            |C N C| the AL fields. Has some good power.
                            |H H N| Brady Anderson is the better of the 2,
                            |H H C| but Conine is a close second.
                            |_____|

RF-Brady Anderson-#9- _____ - Good hitter, good on defense. No
                            |N H C| wonder he earned the starting spot. =)
                            |H H N| Swing at anything in the strike zone,
                            |C N H| he's an all-around hitter.
                            |_____|

SP-Scott Erickson-#19- Fastball: 88 - Pretty good. You could use any
Slider: 88 kind of pitch and expect to get a
Curveball: 85 One of the better hitting pitchers
                           Sinker: 84 strike too.

SP-Jason Johnson-#16- Fastball: 95 - Good starter. A well-rounded
Slider: 84 pitcher that should meet your
Curveball: 86 needs. He has stamina as well, an
                           Change-up: 85 and should last 9 innings.

SP-Sidney Ponson-#43- Fastball: 96 - Has a good Fastball and Curveball,
Slider: 62 and that's all your basically
Curveball: 90 going to use. Don't bother
Change-up: 49 throwing the other 2, they suck.

SP-Jose Mercedes-#31- Fastball: 91 - First 3 pitches are great. Don't
                           Slider: 87 throw the change-up, I could hit a
Curveball: 89 home-run off it. The first 3
Change-up: 32 pitches should get the job done.

SP-Pat Hentgen-#41- Fastball: 93 - Very good. Has 5 pitches, and all
Slider: 90 of them are throw-able. You
Curveball: 91 should able to get at least 10
Change-up: 83 strikeouts on Pro with his
                           Sinker: 83 arsenal.

LR-Chuck McElroy-#47- Fastball: 87 - Yeah, you're gonna want to avoid
Slider: 29 him. He can barely pull off the
Change-up: 48 Sinker, and his Fastball isn't up
Sinker: 71 to par. Forget about the other 2.

MR-Alan Mills-#75- Fastball: 94 - Another goodie. The Splitter is
Slider: 86 good to have, and you'll find
Splitter: 87 yourself to be using it a lot.

MR-Willis Roberts-#37- Fastball: 92 - Another sucky reliever. The good
Slider: 46 Fastball isn't gonna help itself,
Curveball: 49 and you need a backup pitcher.
Sinker: 50 Stick him in the Farm system.

MR-Ryan Kohlmeier-#59- Fastball: 93 - Not too bad. Another well-formed
Slider: 89 pitcher with 3 good pitches.
                           Curveball: 88 That's all you'll need.

SU-Buddy Groom-#27- Fastball: 92 - The Slider sucks, and the
Slider: 20 Fastball/Curveball is only going
Curveball: 92 to hold them off for so long.

CL-Mike Trombley-#28 Fastball: 93 - Good closer. Then again, who
Curveball: 91 isn't. Good for about 2 innings,
Splitter: 90 then he's out of fuel.

Boston Red Sox:

C- Jason Varitek-#33- _____ - Good batting average (.248), and good
                              |C N C| at defense. He's a hit/run batter,
                              |C H C| meaning he'll pop in a shallow fly
                              |N H H| that'll land and he'll take off to
                              |_____| first. Has a rocket for an arm too.

C- Scott Hatteberg-#10- _____ - Pretty good for a backup catcher.
                              |C N C| Bats .265, and isn't bad at defense.
                              |C H C| Is not as powerful as Varitek, but
                              |H H H| gets the job done.
                              |_____|

1B-John Novak-#22- _____ - Who the hell is this guy? He's
                              |C C C| not too bad, I hit a couple singles
                              |N H N| with him. Judging by his speed, I'd
                              |H H H| say he's a power hitter. So take big
                              |_____| swings at the low pitches.

2B-Jose Offerman-#30- _____ - Good leadoff hitter. Puts the ball
                              |N H N| in play most of the time. Bats around
                              |C H C| .250. Not too bad at defense either.
                              |C C H| An all around good player.
                              |_____|

3B-John Valentin-#13- _____ - He's supposedly the starter, but start
                              |C N N| Stynes. He's the better hitter and
                              |N H N| fielder of the two. Trade Valentin,
                              |N N C| as he's still good, but not better
                              |_____| then Stynes.

3B-Chris Stynes-#12- _____ - Start him!! Bench Valentin, Stynes is
                              |C N N| much better. Has a .334 average, so
                              |N H N| you know he's good at offense. Can
                              |N N C| also field better than Valentin.
                              |_____|

3B-Shea Hillenbrand-#29- _____ - Even though the game doesn't give an
                              |N H C| average for him, I can tell he's good.
                              |C H C| He's pretty fast, which means he hits
                              |H C C| a lot of liners. Good on defense as
                              |_____| well.

SS-Nomar Garciaparra-#5- _____ - They gave him a really bad strike-zone
                              |C N N| in this game, but they gave him a .372
                              |N H N| average! Rely on the average and go
                              |N N N| for the power hits. That's why he
                              |_____| bats third in the order.

LF-Troy O'Leary-#25- _____ - One of your 2 possible DH's. Bats a
                              |C C C| .261, but in reality, he's better then
                              |N H N| the average. You could hit at least 3
                              |H H H| for 5 with him.
                              |_____|

LF-Dante Bichette-#19- _____ - One of the rare high-outside fastball
                              |C H H| hitters. Take advantage of this and
                              |C H H| surprise pitchers. Bats around .300
                              |C C C| as well with 2-dozen homers.
                              |_____|

CF-Darren Lewis-#20- _____ - Not too bad. Bats around .250.
                              |H H H| Better at defense than offense.
                              |C H C| Definitely start Everett. You're not
                              |H C N| gonna really need Lewis on this team.
                              |_____|

CF-Carl Everett-#2- _____ - A low-pitch power hitter. Bats .300.
                              |C C C| Chances are if Manny gets up, this guy
                              |N H N| will get up too. Hit 34 homers, so
                              |H H H| he's another one of the RBI leaders.
                              |_____|

RF-Trot Nixon-#7- _____ - Bats around .276. He's your other DH.
                              |N N C| Or, you could start him and put Manny
                              |N H N| at DH. It doesn't really matter,
                              |C N H| because they're the same at defense,
                              |_____| it's just that Manny rocks at offense.

RF-Manny Ramirez-#24- _____ - Another player with a weak strike-
                              |N C C| zone, but a sparkling average. .352
                              |N H N| to be exact. Your cleanup power
                              |N H N| hitter You'll get a lot of homers with
                              |_____| this guy. Definite all-star material.

SP-Hideo Nomo-#11- Fastball: 91 - Very good. His Forkball will
Curveball: 89 fool anyone. All his pitches
Sinker: 84 will get a strike, so use him
                            Forkball: 98 whenever possible.

SP-Pedro Martinez-#45- Fastball: 99 - The best pitcher in the game.
Curveball: 99 The coverboy for the CD Case.
Slider: 98 You want to at least try him out,
Change-up: 98 even if you hate him.

SP-David Cone-#36- Fastball: 93 - Used to be better. Remember that
Slider: 39 perfect game? Avoid him in this
Curveball: 86 game, the fastball isn't gonna
Sinker: 48 get you anywhere. Throw the
Splitter: 49 Curve a lot if you play with him.

SP-Bret Saberhagen-#17- Fastball: 90 - If he had a third pitch, he would
Slider: 27 be good. He'll do some good
Curveball: 97 relief work. Don't start him,
Change-up: 36 he's not going to get anywhere.

SP-Frank Castillo-#37- Fastball: 90 - Not too good. Only has a
                            Slider: 48 Fastball/Curveball. You could
Curveball: 90 pull off Change-up and Slider
                            Change-up: 61 about 10% of the time. He's OK
Slider: 64 if you know where to throw.

LR-Tim Wakefield-#49- Fastball: 66 - This guy rules. You could
Slider: 49 squeeze in about 6 hitless
Curveball: 84 innings with him. The knuckle is
Knuckle: 99 your main pitch, use it a lot.

LR-Paxton Crawford-#63- Fastball: 93 - Not too good. Can't pull off
Slider: 42 anything besides the Fastball.
                            Change-up: 57 Avoid him, don't even bother
                            Sinker: 48 putting him out.

MR-Rich Garces-#34- Fastball: 95 - Good for about 2 innings. Use
Curveball: 94 him until the batters realize his
                            Splitter: 89 pattern.

MR-Rolando Arrojo-#44- Fastball: 96 - Another great pitcher. Can fool
Slider: 85 the batter with any pitch. If
Curveball: 87 you vary the pitches, he can
                            Change-up: 84 throw around 5 hitless innings.
                            Splitter: 83

SU-Rod Beck-#47- Fastball: 93 - Not too bad. Use the Fastball/
Slider: 52 Splitter a lot, and throw the
Forkball: 53 Forkball a couple to confuse
                            Splitter: 94 batters.

CL-Derek Lowe-#32- Fastball: 95 - One of the most underestimated
Curveball: 98 closers. Good for around 3
Change-up: 93 innings. You can really do some
Sinker: 97 damage with this pitching staff.

Chicago Cubs:

C- Todd Hundley-#9- _____ - One of the better catchers in the
                              |C C C| league Has a nice .284 average and
                              |H H H| plenty of home-runs. Another low-
                              |C H H| inside pitch hitter. Can pick-off a
                              |_____| lot of batters.

C- Joe Girardi-#27- _____ - He still has it. Bats about .300.
                              |C N N| He has 6 homers, but he's still a
                              |N H N| power hitter. You can get a whole
                              |N N C| butt load of doubles with him.
                              |_____|

1B-Julio Zuleta-#15- _____ - Very good backup 1B. This is your
                              |C H N| DH. Hits .294. Pretty quick around
                              |N H N| the bases as well. He's one of those
                              |N C N| underrated players.
                              |_____|

1B-Matt Stairs-#30- _____ - Average hitter, average fielder. Has
                              |C C C| a nice arm though, but you're not
                              |H H H| really going to need it since he's a
                              |C H H| 1B. All I could say is wait for the
                              |_____| low-inside pitch.

2B-Eric Young-#7- _____ - Bats around .300. Hits mostly line
                              |C N N| drives. Fast and very good at
                              |N H N| defense He's underestimated, because I
                              |N N C| can do some damage with him.
                              |_____|

3B-Ron Coomer-#6- _____ - Has a big hot zone, so you could swing
                              |C H C| at a number of pitches. Boasts a .270
                              |H H H| average, so you'll get a couple of
                              |C H C| hits. Another fine option for your
                              |_____| DH.

3B-Bill Mueler-#33- _____ - Average hitter, he's better at
                              |C H N| defense. Bats about .240. He's the
                              |C H C| better 3B, but still only average
                              |C N H| compared to the rest of the league.
                              |_____|

SS-Ricky Gutierrez-#12 _____ - Very good on defense. Swift runner,
                              |N H N| and can make long throws. Has a .276
                              |C H C| average, and a dozen homers, so go for
                              |H C C| liners. He has a varied hot-zone, so
                              |_____| swing at anything that looks good.

SS-Augie Ojeda-#1- _____ - Despite his hot-zone, he's a good
                              |N H C| outside hitter. Doesn't have a really
                              |N H N| good average (.221), but a nice
                              |N C H| fielding shortstop. You can try him
                              |_____| out, but that's about it.

LF-Rondell White-#22- _____ - Pretty good hitter. Has a .311
                              |C N C| average. Not really a power hitter,
                              |H H H| so aim the cursor level with the ball
                              |C H C| so you get base hits. Has a very good
                              |_____| arm, so you could make long throws.

CF-Gary Matthews Jr.-#19- _____ - Don't bother with this loser either.
                              |N N C| His stats show his suckiness. .190
                              |N H N| batting average, no power, etc.
                              |N C H| Excellent at defense though. No
                              |_____| errors, strong arm, VERY fast.

CF-Delino DeShields-#16- _____ - Another option for DH. Has around a
                              |N N C| .300 average. You could start him if
                              |N H N| you want, because he hits a lot better
                              |C N H| then Matthews.
                              |_____|

RF-Todd Dunwoody-#11- _____ - Avoid him, he sucks. No offense, .208
                              |N N C| batting average. No defense, had a
                              |N H N| lot of errors during the season. Weak
                              |N C H| arm, and no hitting power. Don't even
                              |_____| bother trying him out.

RF-Sammy Sosa-#21- _____ - Slammin' Sammy! He's one of the best
                              |C N C| hitters in the sport. Kill the
                              |N H H| pitches you get and you should hit it
                              |N H C| most of the time. He bats around
                              |_____| .320.

SP-Jon Lieber-#32- Fastball: 94 - A VERY good pitcher. The
Slider: 94 dominator of the Cubs bullpen.
Curveball: 98 You know the drill, vary his
                             Change-up: 90 pitches and get the K's.

SP-Julian Tavarez-#50- Fastball: 95 - Second-rate at best. Only pitch
Slider: 87 when his stamina is full and
Change-up: 62 throw power pitches. The Sinker
Sinker: 68 should be thrown 10% of the time

SP-Jason Bere-#46- Fastball: 94 - Good for relief. His Fastball/
Slider: 36 Curveball should carry him
Curveball: 89 through 3 innings. After that,
                             Splitter: 34 he's easily hittable.

SP-Kerry Wood-#34- Fastball: 98 - Excellent pitcher. 5 pitches,
Slider: 97 and they can all blow out any
Curveball: 88 batter. Fluctuate all of them.
Change-up: 86 He can go the full 9 innings and
                             Sinker: 85 get around 13 strike-outs.

SP-Kevin Tapani-#36- Fastball: 90 - Another good starter. Actually,
Curveball: 97 he's very good. Vary all his
                             Change-up: 88 pitches. The change-up is a good
Splitter: 87 follow-up to the fastball.

LR-Kyle Farnsworth-#44- Fastball: 97 - Your run of the mill reliever.
Curveball: 64 Good for 2 innings, try to get
Sinker: 64 all 3 pitches into each out.

MR-Felix Heredia-#94- Fastball: 96 - Good reliever. His pitches
Slider: 94 should carry you through 3
Curveball: 87 innings. Will get a couple K's.

MR-Courtney Duncan-#55- Fastball: 96 - You could use him in a jam. Use
Curveball: 87 the 1st 2 most of the time, and
Change-up: 41 then fool them with the Change.

MR-Todd Van Poppel-#47- Fastball: 91 - Really good. He doesn't look
Curveball: 90 it, but you'll notice when you
Change-up: 88 throw him on the mound.

SU-Jeff Fassero-#13- Fastball: 93 - Good hitting pitcher. When you
Slider: 85 pitch him, check to see if he
Sinker: 85 bats. If he does, you can
Forkball: 88 probably get a hit.

CL-Tom "Flash" Gordon-#45- Fastball: 96 - This guy blows, they call him
Slider: 51 Flash because of his fastball.
Curveball: 58 Use Fassero as your closer.

Chicago White Sox:

C- Sandy Alomar Jr.-#15- _____ - Not a power hitter, but definitely
                                |N H N| up there. Has almost a .300
                                |C H C| average. What makes him good is his
                                |H C C| speed and defense. He could pick
                                |_____| off Ichiro with that arm.

C- Josh Paul-#27- _____ - Judging by his batting average
                                |N N N| (.282), I'd say he's good. Trade
                                |N H N| him, because Alomar is still better.
                                |N C N| Or, if you want, DH him. I haven't
                                |_____| played with him a lot.

1B-Frank Thomas-#35- _____ - Ah, here we go. The power hitter of
                                |C N N| the Sox. Had 43 homers and a .330
                                |N H N| average. Average on defense. Then
                                |C H C| again, what does a 1B really do
                                |_____| besides catch the ball?

1B-Paul Konerko-#14- _____ - Another good hitter. Hits .298, so
                                |C H N| he should be your DH. Trade him if
                                |N H N| you want, because you'll be starting
                                |C N C| Thomas. You could pick up a nice
                                |_____| pitcher for him.

2B-Tony Graffanino-#17- _____ - Another option for DH. Everyone on
                                |H N N| this team rules at hitting. I
                                |C H C| didn't try him on defense, but he
                                |H C N| looks average. He's a power hitter.
                                |_____|

2B-Ray Durham-#5- _____ - Bats first in the order. Good
                                |C H C| hitter, and very fast. He's good on
                                |N H H| defense, although his throwing speed
                                |C N H| requires a little work.
                                |_____|

3B-Herbert Perry-#43- _____ - Argh, another .300 batter. DH him
                                |C N N| if you want. I would recommend
                                |N H N| trading all these goodies for 1 all-
                                |N N H| star pitcher or something like that.
                                |_____| Nice arm too.

SS-Jose Valentin-#22- _____ - Very good low-ball hitter. Had over
                                |C C C| 2 dozen homeruns, so you can expect
                                |H H H| a little power from him. Not as
                                |C H H| fast ashe used to be, but still good
                                |_____| enough to start.

SS-Royce Clayton-#10- _____ - .242 average, but his real talent
                                |N H N| rests on his defense and speed. A
                                |C H C| fine pinch-runner, and can get that
                                |H C C| double most of the time.
                                |_____|

LF-Carlos Lee-#45- _____ - Will the wave of good hitters ever
                                |C N C| cease to end? Lee: .301 average
                                |H H H| with 24 homers. Another good arm.
                                |C H C| Why, oh why, didn't the Sox win the
                                |_____| World Series?

LF-Jose Canseco-#31- _____ - This guy is a real asshole. He gets
                                |C C C| a hit off me every time. He has a
                                |H H H| .252 average, but mysteriously hits
                                |N H C| .700 when he faces me. He's your
                                |_____| first option for DH, obviously.

LF-Harold Baines-#3- _____ - Trade him, you already have 2 great
                                |C N C| left-fielders. You can get someone
                                |H H H| good for his .254 average. Yeah,
                                |C H H| that's pretty much all I could say.
                                |_____|

CF-Chris Singleton-#12- _____ - I hate to say it, but this is
                                |C N C| probably the crappiest player you're
                                |C H H| gonna find on this team. That is,
                                |C H H| if you consider .254 BA crappy.
                                |_____|

RF-Magglio Ordonez-#30- _____ - Another power hitter. 32 homers,
                                |N N C| a .315 batting average, and
                                |H H N| unprecedented speed. Also a star
                                |C H C| right fielder with a rocket for an
                                |_____| arm. This is your model player.

SP-Jim Parque-#40- Fastball: 94 - Not only is he a good pitcher,
Slider: 80 he has impressive stamina. He
Curveball: 93 could go the full nine innings
Change-up: 91 and then come back the next day.

SP-Cal Eldred-#21- Fastball: 97 - Not too bad. The 3 strong
Slider: 61 pitches should get the job done.
Curveball: 80 Good in the sense that he's
                             Change-up: 77 consistent and reliable.

SP-Mark Buehrle-#56- Fastball: 95 - The three "average" pitches
Slider: 78 should carry you through the
Curveball: 81 majority the game. He's
                             Change-up: 42 a pretty good pitcher.

SP-James Baldwin-#37- Fastball: 96 - Overestimated. He actually
Slider: 49 sucks. The Fastball and
Curveball: 97 Curveball aren't as effective
                             Change-up: 52 with this guy.

SP-David Wells-#33- Fastball: 89 - Very good. Should get at least
                             Slider: 44 10 strikeouts over 9 innings
Curveball: 99 with that powerful Curveball.
Change-up: 91 Use the Change 40% of the time.

LR-Sean Lowe-#50- Fastball: 92 - Dump him in the farm system.
Slider: 58 This guy is trash. No wonder
Sinker: 60 the Sox need so many runs

LR-Rocky Biddle-#60- Fastball: 95 - The Fastball and Curve should be
Curveball: 87 all you need to get you through
Change-up 29 a few innings. Cool name too.

MR-Bill Simas-#41- Fastball: 97 - The Sinker is a good variation
Slider: 28 to the Fastball. The Slider
Sinker: 87 should be used 10% of the time.

MR-Bob Howry-#46- Fastball: 98 - Pretty good. Effective with all
Curveball: 93 3 pitches. Throws strong for
                             Change-up: 80 2.5 innings, then he's done.

SU-Kelly Wunsch-#65- Fastball: 94 - Eh, average at best. His
Slider: 57 pitches barely qualify as
Curveball: 88 "regulars". He could go for a
Change-up: 58 long time though, say 5 innings.

CL-Keith Foulke-#29- Fastball: 94 - The Screwball is awesome. And
                             Change-up: 99 the change-up works great after
                             Screwball: 93 a 95 mph fastball.

Cincinnati Reds:

C- Kelly Stinnett-#31- _____ - Heh, worse then LaRue. .217
                                   |C C C| average, 8 homers, and a girl's
                                   |H H H| arm, hence the name Kelly.
                                   |C H C| Didn't think you could get worse
                                   |_____| then LaRue, huh?

C- Jason LaRue-#23- _____ - The weak point of the Reds
                                   |N N N| lineup. Unfortunately, this is
                                   |N H N| the best catcher on the team.
                                   |C N N| .230 average, 5 homers, and his
                                   |_____| defense is pitiful.

1B-Sean Casey-#21- _____ - .315 hitter, and about 2 dozen
                                   |C H C| homers. Very good first baseman,
                                   |N H H| and almost never injured. This
                                   |C N H| is your reliable, consistent
                                   |_____| player.

2B-Pokey Reese-#3- _____ - Eh, not too bad. Good low-inside
                                   |N H N| hitter. Had a .255 average, so I
                                   |C H C| wouldn't say he's bad. He used
                                   |H C C| to be better though. He's
                                   |_____| another good baserunner.

3B-Bill Selby-#54- _____ - Average backup. Boone is a lot
                                   |N N C| better then him. He has around a
                                   |N H N| .250 average, and a few homers.
                                   |N C H| Haven't tried him out on defense,
                                   |_____| though.

3B-Aaron Boone-#17- _____ - Good 3B. He's better on defense
                                   |C N C| than offense. He's a good .285
                                   |N H H| hitter, but virtually error-free
                                   |C H C| on defense. Your model 3B, who
                                   |_____| can make the long throws to 1st.

SS-Juan Castro-#12- _____ - Piteous .241 average. Kind of
                                   |C N C| fast, and alright at defense.
                                   |N H N| He's a pretty good pinch runner,
                                   |N N N| but don't expect to hit homers
                                   |_____| with him.

SS-Barry Larkin-#11- _____ - Nice average, .313, and enough
                                   |C H N| talent to get a base-hit leading
                                   |N H N| off. He's also pretty fast, so
                                   |N C C| that's a plus for a baserunner.
                                   |_____|

LF-Dmitri Young-#25- _____ - Has a .303 average, so that's a
                                   |C H C| plus. Also a power hitter, so
                                   |H H N| it's good to see him batting
                                   |H N C| cleanup. Good fielder, with a
                                   |_____| strong arm.

CF-Ken Griffey Jr.-#30- _____ - One of the best outfielders in
                                   |C N C| the game. Fast as hell, 40
                                   |H H N| homers, and a rocket for an arm.
                                   |C H H| Dead low pitch hitter. Bean him
                                   |_____| if you're facing him.

CF-Ruben Mateo-#19- _____ - Pretty good backup. .291
                                   |C N N| average. He's pretty fast.
                                   |N H N| This is your main DH option.
                                   |N N C| You aren't gonna find a better
                                   |_____| backup hitter on this team.

CF-Rubin Rivera-#28- _____ - Sucks, stay away from him.
                                   |C C N| You've already got 2 good center
                                   |N H C| fielders, so don't expect much.
                                   |H H C| He bats .208, so release him.
                                   |_____| He's a drain on the team.

RF-Michael Tucker-#34- _____ - I guess he's OK. .270 average.
                                   |N H N| He looks to be a power hitter, so
                                   |C H C| go for some homers. His slow
                                   |C C H| speed and bad defense bench him
                                   |_____| though.

RF-Alex Ochoa-#7- _____ - Sparkling .316 average with a
                                   |C C C| dozen homers. He's a nice
                                   |N H H| hitter, so don't be afraid to
                                   |C H N| swing. Not too slow either, so
                                   |_____| go for the doubles.

SP-Scott Williamson-#48- Fastball: 98 - Basically sucks, pitchers are
Slider: 90 supposed to have 4 pitches. He
                             Change-up: 41 can't get more than 4 innings.

SP-Chris Reitsma-#41- Fastball: 96 - Isn't too good. Better yet, he
                             Slider: 42 sucks. Another Cincinnati
Curveball: 38 disappointment. This is why
Change-up: 84 they gave up so many runs.

SP-Pete Harnisch-#38- Fastball: 92 - Pretty good with those 3
Slider: 49 dominating pitches. The Slider
Curveball: 93 can be used sparingly to mess
                             Change-up: 87 with the batters.

SP-Sean O'Hara-#44- Fastball: 95 - He's great. The Sinker and
Change-up: 80 Forkball work surprisingly well.
Sinker: 96 Your optimal Red's pitcher.
Forkball: 93 Use him the full 9 innings.

SP-Elmer Dessens-#45- Fastball: 96 - He's OK. 3 pitches aren't
Curveball: 97 too good for a starter, but
                             Change-up: 76 he'll do for a few innings.

LR-Jim Brower-#53- Fastball: 94 - With those crappy pitches, he
Slider: 37 can only last an inning before
Curveball: 43 you can take him out. Better
Change-up: 34 yet, throw him in the minors.

LR-John Riedling-#46- Fastball: 95 - What's worse then a pitcher with
                             Slider: 37 4 crappy pitches? A pitcher
Curveball: 45 with 3 crappy pitches.

MR-Scott Sullivan-#56- Fastball: 97 - The first 2 pitches do a lot of
Slider: 93 damage. Use the Sinker 20% of
Sinker: 54 the time to fool the hitter.

MR-Dennys Reyes-#49- Fastball: 89 - Good, well-rounded pitcher. Can
Slider: 87 do about 2.5 innings worth of
Curveball: 85 work before hitters predict him.

SU-Mark Wohlers-#51- Fastball: 98 - The Splitter doesn't really do
Slider: 89 anything, so that leaves him
Splitter: 42 with 2 good pitches. 1 inning.

CL-Danny Graves-#32- Fastball: 98 - Here we go. An optimal closer.
Slider: 90 Vary all his pitches. He can go
Change-up: 95 4 hitless innings, and he might
Sinker: 94 need to, considering the others.

Cleveland Indians:

C- Eddie Taubensee-#16- _____ - Surprisingly, this is the worst player
                              |N N C| on the team. .267 average, with 6
                              |N H N| homers. He's better at defense then
                              |C N H| offense. He bats 8th in the order,
                              |_____| so don't expect to do well with him.

C- Einar Diaz-#2- _____ - Not a bad pinch-runner. Blazing
                              |C C N| fast, and a pretty nice average
                              |N H H| (.272). Sub him for the pitchers
                              |N H C| if you want, because he isn't gonna
                              |_____| do a lot more.

1B-Jim Thome-#25- _____ - Nearly 40 homers, so don't screw
                              |C N C| around while pitching to him. When
                              |N H H| you're batting, swing at anything low
                              |C H H| and inside. You'll hit a homer 2 out
                              |_____| of 4 times.

2B-Roberto Alomar-#12- _____ - This is a powerful hitter. Has a
                              |C H C| .310 average with 19 homers. He
                              |N H N| can hit a ton to right field though.
                              |C N H| He also has a nice arm on defense,
                              |_____| although he doesn't use it much.

3B-Travis Fryman-#17- _____ - The wave of good hitters is almost
                              |N H H| over. Bats 7th in the order. Has a
                              |N H N| .321 average with around 2 dozen
                              |C C C| homers. Take him seriously, because
                              |_____| he's better then he looks.

SS-Omar Vizquel-#13- _____ - If you want, you can lead-off with
                              |C H N| him. Has a .287 average, and a
                              |C H C| great on-base percentage. Doesn't
                              |C C H| have a lot of homers, which means
                              |_____| he's a base-hit guy.

SS-John McDonald-#8- _____ - Get this, a .444 average. This is
                              |N H N| your DH. Sucks at defense and
                              |C H N| running, so DH is all he's good for.
                              |N C N| Will hit a ton. Has like a .900
                              |_____| slugging percentage.

LF-Wil Cordero-#30- _____ - One of your options of DH. He
                              |C N N| used to be better, now he's a
                              |N H N| burn-out. .276 average with
                              |N N C| 16 homers. His stats are better
                              |_____| then him.

LF-Russell Branyan-#33- _____ - Not too bad. This is your main
                              |C C C| sub. He has a .238 average with
                              |H H H| 16 homers, and has had a lot of
                              |C H H| playing time. Your first choice
                              |_____| for a substitution.

CF-Kenny Lofton-#7- _____ - Great lead-off hitter. Has a
                              |C H C| sparkling .278 average with over
                              |N H H| a dozen homers. Unpredictable
                              |C N H| speed, and a great fielder. This
                              |_____| is another optimal player.

CF-Jolbert Cabrera-#6- _____ - Drop him. He sucks. .251 average
                              |N H N| with 2 homers. You already have good
                              |C H N| subs, so you don't need him. Don't
                              |N C N| even bother trying him out, it's not
                              |_____| worth your time.

RF-Juan Gonzalez-#22- _____ - This is the cleanup power hitter
                              |C H C| for your team. Has around 2 dozen
                              |H H N| homers, this is the guy you want to
                              |C H C| swing with. .289 average, so don't
                              |_____| mess with him.

RF-Marty Cordova-#46- _____ - Not too bad. .245 average with 4
                              |C N N| homers. Another base-hit player.
                              |N H N| Consider trading him for a better
                              |N N C| hitter, because you already have
                              |_____| a lot of players like him.

RF-Ellis Burks-#23- _____ - Another batter you don't want to
                              |N N C| mess with. Has one of the best
                              |H H N| averages in the league, a beautiful
                              |C H C| .344 with 2 dozen homers. I can get
                              |_____| a base hit with him 75% of the time.

SP-C.C. Sabathia-#52- Fastball: 99 - Unfortunately, this is one of the
Curveball: 58 better pitchers on the team.
Change-up: 51 Prepare to see one of the suckiest
Slider: 52 pitching staffs in the league.

SP-Charles Nagy-#41- Fastball: 95 - This is another better pitcher on
Curveball: 96 the team. His pitches are lazy and
Change-up: 70 easy to predict. Don't bother with
                          Splitter: 68 the change-up.

SP-Charles Finley-#31- Fastball: 94 - Best pitcher on the team. This is
Curveball: 93 the guy you want to exploit. His
Change-up: 46 3 main pitches should carry you
Splitter: 92 through the majority of the game.

SP-Bartolo Colon-#40- Fastball: 97 - Kinda bad. He's not gonna do a lot
Curveball: 79 of damage with one good pitch.
Change-up: 78 Start one of your two better
                          Sinker: 68 starters.

SP-Dave Burba-#34- Fastball: 93 - Second-best pitcher on the team.
Curveball: 89 It's all downhill after him. His
Change-up: 84 His ERA would be lower if his
                          Splitter: 96 bullpen didn't suck.

LR-Jaret Wright-#27- Fastball: 98 - Sucks. Good for about 2 innings
Curveball: 78 of relief. Giving up 3 hits in
Change-up: 68 2 innings is pretty good for him,
Sinker: 69 especially with that dire sinker.

MR-Bob Wickman-#26- Fastball: 96 - OK reliever. He has no stamina,
Slider: 82 so is only good for about 1 inning.
Sinker: 80 Throw power pitches with him.

MR-David Riske-#54- Fastball: 94 - Yeah, that's not a typo. He
Curveball: 20 really does suck that much.
Change-up: 21 Just throw his ass into the farm
Splitter: 36 system and forget about him.

MR-Ricardo Rincon-#73- Fastball: 94 - <Sigh>, another bad reliever.
Slider: 36 The fastball alone isn't going
Sinker: 55 to do any damage. Drop him.

SU-Paul Shuey-#53- Fastball: 98 - Good closer/reliever. One of
Curveball: 84 the only good relievers on the
Splitter: 80 team. 1.5 innings at most.

CL-John Rocker-#49- Fastball: 100 - If this guy wasn't such an asshole
Slider: 88 to the Mets he would be one of the
Change-up: 86 best. He's very good in this game.

Colorado Rockies:

C- Adam Melhuse-#38- _____ - Plainly, he sucks. .167 batting
                              |N N C| average with no homers. He's a
                              |N H N| disgrace at fielding, and has no
                              |N N H| arm. Drop him, or use him as a
                              |_____| pinch runner.

C- Ben Petrick-#6- _____ - No wonder he starts. He has a
                              |N N N| .322 average. He's also good at
                              |N H N| defense. His hot zone isn't too
                              |C N N| good, but don't let that bother you.
                              |_____| He's better then he looks.

1B-Todd Helton-#17- _____ - Arguably one of the best hitters.
                              |C N C| .372 average with a whopping 42
                              |N H H| homers. He's the 2nd best hitter on
                              |C H H| the team. Definite home run power
                              |_____| here, don't be afraid to swing.

1B-Robin Jennings-#30- _____ - Not too bad. The game doesn't
                              |N N C| give him stats, but you could use
                              |N H N| him as a DH if you wish. He's a
                              |N C H| good base-hit player. Don't go
                              |_____| for homers, he'll fly-out.

2B-Todd Walker-#12- _____ - Excellent hitter. Has a .290
                              |N H C| batting average with 9 homers.
                              |N H H| Don't be fooled by the 9 homers,
                              |N N H| he hits it up to the wall every
                              |_____| time. Mid-inside pitch hitter.

3B-Jeff Cirillo-#7- _____ - You know what, set this guy as your
                              |C H C| lead-off hitter. .326 average. He'll
                              |H H N| get a hit 5 out of 6 times. He's a
                              |C N C| monster on defense too. An all around
                              |_____| good player.

3B-Terry Shumpert-#22- _____ - This is your main DH option. You'll
                              |C N N| want to hit some homers with him.
                              |N H N| .260 batting average with 9 homers.
                              |N N C| He's a good power hitter, so aim a
                              |_____| little below the expected pitch.

3B-Greg Norton-#14- _____ - Another good hitter. Unfortunately,
                              |C C C| you already have 3 good 3B, so you
                              |H H N| could trade him for someone good.
                              |C H H| He's not too great at defense though,
                              |_____| so all the more reason to trade him.

SS-Juan Uribe-#4- _____ - Not too good. Drop him or trade him.
                              |N N N| You won't get anyone good, so you're
                              |N H N| better off dropping him. He's a
                              |N C N| decent pinch-runner though, so he
                              |_____| might serve some purpose.

SS-Neifi Perez-#5- _____ - Very good starter. Excellent at
                              |N N C| defense and a fast runner. Nice
                              |N H N| .287 average with about a dozen
                              |C N H| homers. This is one of your best
                              |_____| players, so treat him like one.

LF-Todd Hollandsworth-#27- _____ - Excellent hitter. .269 average with
                              |N N C| 20 homers. He's the power hitter
                              |N H N| for your team. Not too fast, but who
                              |C N H| cares when he hits homers most of the
                              |_____| time.

CF-Juan Pierre-#9- _____ - Good backup. .310 average, but no
                              |N N C| homers. He's good at defense and
                              |N H N| a pretty good hitter. He can get the
                              |N C H| single or double most of the time.
                              |_____|

RF-Larry Walker-#33- _____ - Another raw power hitter. Has a .309
                              |C N C| average, so use him wisely. Has 9
                              |N H H| homers, but he's pretty good at the
                              |C H H| long hits. One of the better
                              |_____| hitters on the team.

SP-Denny Neagle-#15- Fastball: 93 - Not too bad. The Fastball/Changeup
Slider: 81 combo are your main pitches. Use
Change-up: 94 the other two sparingly, but be
Sinker: 78 sure to use them occasionally.

SP-Mike Hampton-#10- Fastball: 94 - The cream of the crop. Excellent
Slider: 94 pitcher. Use all his pitches to
Change-up: 97 keep the batter guessing. Good
Sinker: 97 pitcher considering his stadium.

SP-Brian Bohanon-#41- Fastball: 88 - Another average pitcher. Again,
                          Change-up: 89 his Fastball/Change are the main
Sinker: 68 pitches. The other two should
                          Splitter: 69 be used cautiously.

SP-Pedro Astacio-#34- Fastball: 96 - Good pitcher. His 3 main pitches
Slider: 56 should be used 95% of the time.
Curveball: 95 The slider looks like a lazy
Change-up: 91 fastball, so use it scarcely.

SP-Shawn Chacon-#56- Fastball: 96 - Sucks, don't bother. This
Slider: 42 moron will give up 8 hits
Curveball: 49 before the second inning.
Change-up: 38 Dump him in the farm system.

LR-Kane Davis-#37- Fastball: 90 - Another sucky pitcher. He's
Slider: 32 another asshole who'll give up
Curveball: 34 a ton of hits. Drop him, because
Change-up: 32 he won't get better in the farm.

LR-Makoto Suzuki-#16- Fastball: 97 - This is one of your best
Slider: 82 relievers. Will go around 4
Curveball: 84 innings. He's got really good
Splitter: 88 pitches, so use him a lot.

MR-Mike Myers-#28- Fastball: 89 - Will go around 2 innings
Slider: 52 before hitters start predicting
Curveball: 54 him. Not too bad.

MR-Juan Acevedo-#50- Fastball: 96 - Another bad pitcher. Don't
Slider: 49 bother with him either. Dump
Sinker: 27 him and hope he'll improve.

MR-Jay Powell-#39- Fastball: 98 - Argh, he sucks too. Toss
Slider: 42 in the farm system as well.
Sinker: 44 You're better off getting a FA.

SU-Gabe White-#36- Fastball: 94 - Finally, someone decent.
Change-up: 85 Another main reliever for you,
Sinker: 83 considering the others suck.

CL-Jose Jimenez-#49- Fastball: 97 - Good closer. Use him a lot,
Slider: 85 because your relievers suck.
Sinker: 92 2 innings at most.

Detroit Tigers:

C- Brandon Inge-#12- _____ - The game doesn't give him any stats,
                              |C N N| but I can tell you he's good. He's
                              |N H N| better then Fick. He seems to be a
                              |N N C| base-hit player, with not a lot of
                              |_____| power. He can pick off runners well.

C- Robert Fick-#25- _____ - Sucks. Start Inge. Fick has a
                              |C N C| .252 batting average with 3
                              |N H C| homers. He sucks at defense as well.
                              |N N H| You'll be better off playing with
                              |_____| Inge, trust me.

C- Mitch Meluskey-#21- _____ - Oops, forgot about him. He's a
                              |N N C| very good hitter, but his defense
                              |N H N| is lacking. Bats .300 with 14
                              |C N H| homers, another power hitter. Start
                              |_____| him if you want some extra offense.

1B-Ryan Jackson-#20- _____ - Eh, don't bother. You have Clark at
                              |N N N| 1B. The game doesn't give him stats.
                              |N H N| He's not good at running either, so
                              |N C H| dump him. Pick up a minor with some
                              |_____| potential.

1B-Tony Clark-#44- _____ - One of the rare outside-pitch hitters.
                              |N C C| He'll crush the outside pitches with
                              |H H C| his .274 average. He also has 13
                              |H H N| homers. Slightly above average
                              |_____| player.

2B-Jose Macias-#39- _____ - Not too bad as a DH. Has a .254
                              |N N C| batting average with 2 homers.
                              |C H N| He's reliable, so use him when
                              |N C H| your team's in a jam. He's pretty
                              |_____| quick as well.

2B-Damion Easley-#9- _____ - Not too bad. .260 average with 14
                              |C N C| homers. Has some power, but not
                              |H H H| enough to make you feel confident
                              |C H C| about using him as a power hitter.
                              |_____| Just go for base-hits with him.

3B-Dean Palmer-#7- _____ - Another power hitter. Has a .256
                              |C N C| batting average with 29 homers. He
                              |N H H| puts an average amount of contact on
                              |C H C| the ball, but when he does, it's
                              |_____| usually a homer.

3B-Shane Halter-#17- _____ - Another good option for DH. Has a
                              |C N N| .261 batting average with 3 homers.
                              |N H N| He's reliable, but not too fast.
                              |N N C| You could use him, but don't push for
                              |_____| the extra bases.

SS-Deivi Cruz-#8- _____ - Reasonable if you use him for
                              |C N N| leading-off. Has a .302 batting
                              |N H N| average with 10 homers. He'll get
                              |N N C| a base hit 3 out of 5 times. He's
                              |_____| pretty good at defense as well.

LF-Bobby Higginson-#4- _____ - Very good hitter. .300 batting
                              |C C C| average with 30 homers. He's your
                              |N H H| cleanup/power hitter. Not too shabby
                              |C H H| at defense either. One of the better
                              |_____| players on the Tigers.

CF-Juan Encarnacion-#34- _____ - Another one of the team's best
                              |C H C| hitters. Has a .289 batting average
                              |H H N| with 14 homers. When you play with
                              |C N C| him, you'll see how good he is.
                              |_____| Gets a hit 3 out of 4 times.

CF-Roger Cedeno-#19- _____ - Used to be one of the most prominent
                              |N N C| lead-off hitters in the sport.
                              |N H N| Now just above average. Has a .282
                              |C N H| batting average with 6 homers, and
                              |_____| should get a hit most of the time.

RF-Wendell Magee-#29- _____ - Another rare outside-pitch hitter.
                              |C N N| He's a very good substitute/DH. He
                              |C H H| has a .274 average with 7 homers.
                              |C H N| Definitely give him some playing time,
                              |_____| you won't regret it.

SP-Steve W. Sparks-#37- Fastball: 88 - A great off-speed pitcher. All
Slider: 83 four of his pitches will do major
Curveball: 90 damage. The knuckle is the most
Knuckle: 92 unpredictable pitch, so use it.

SP-Brian Moehler-#38- Fastball: 97 - Not too great. The 3 latter
                           Slider: 65 pitches aren't too good. He'll
Change-up: 69 give up a lot of hits and runs.
Sinker: 68 Use him as a later resort.

SP-Jeff Weaver-#36- Fastball: 98 - Very good. His greatness is
Slider: 91 only surpassed by Sparks. Use
Curveball: 98 this guy a lot, he has the
Change-up: 90 stamina to go all the way.

SP-Jose Lima-#42- Fastball: 95 - He used to be one of the most
Curveball: 96 dominate pitchers in the league,
Change-up: 90 now he's just good. Use him
                           Sinker: 82 a lot, as he's a good starter.

SP-Chris Holt-#41- Fastball: 95 - Pretty good. Has 3 controlling
Curveball: 94 pitches. Not too much stamina
                           Change-up: 48 though, so you're better off
Sinker: 81 putting him in as relief.

LR-Matt Perisho-#40- Fastball: 94 - Don't really bother. While he's
Slider: 52 one of the better relievers, the
Curveball: 60 starters ought to go the whole 9
                           Change-up: 62 innings. Good for 3 innings.

MR-Danny Patterson-#28- Fastball: 94 - Don't laugh, it gets worse. While
Change-up: 38 this guy blows, you'll see worse.
Splitter: 40 Dump him in the farm system.

MR-C.J. Nitkowski-#27- Fastball: 97 - Good for about 1.5 innings. The
Slider: 50 Fastball/Curveball should be all
Curveball: 75 you use. Unfortunately, he's one
Change-up: 46 of the better relievers.

MR-Dave Borkowski-#45- Fastball: 96 - Ok, now we can all laugh. To be
Slider: 38 frank, this is one of the worst
Curveball: 26 pitchers in the league. Dump him,
Change-up: 26 he's not worth the minimum wage.
Sinker: 32 How did he even get a job?

SU-Todd Jones-#59- Fastball: 98 - Very good late reliever/closer.
Slider: 90 Use him for the 8th/9th innings.
Curveball: 95 He should be dominating your
                           Change-up: 90 bullpen.

CL-Matt Anderson-#14- Fastball: 99 - Eh, not too great. Todd Jones
Slider: 65 should be used more. He's
Curveball: 65 average, treat him that way.

Florida Marlins:

C- Mike Redmond-#52- _____ - Eh, not too great. .252 average
                              |N N N| with no homers. Johnson is your
                              |N H C| starter, but this guy makes a
                              |C N N| mediocre DH. Trade him if you want,
                              |_____| but you're not gonna get anyone good.

C- Charles Johnson-#23- _____ - The second best hitting catcher in the
                              |N H N| league. .304 average with 31 homers.
                              |C H C| This is the stretch in the lineup you
                              |H C C| want to look out for. Wilson, Lowell,
                              |_____| and Johnson with Lee on deck.

1B-Dan Tudge-#14- _____ - Isn't your starter. Not too good
                              |C C C| at anything. The game doesn't
                              |H H H| give him stats. Dump him, because
                              |N N C| you have McGuire as a backup to
                              |_____| Lee, so this guy has no purpose.

1B-Ryan McGuire-#9- _____ - Only use him as a last resort.
                              |N N C| He sucks. While he's better then
                              |N N N| Tudge, don't bother. Start Lee, and
                              |N N H| only Lee. He can't hit, field, or
                              |_____| run. No talent in this loser.

1B-Derrek Lee-#25- _____ - Will the wave of good hitters end?
                              |C C C| .281 batting average with 28 homers,
                              |H H H| this guy has talent. You could get
                              |C H C| 3 homers in a row leading up to him
                              |_____| if you try hard enough.

2B-Luis Castillo-#1- _____ - Very good lead-off hitter. Very
                              |H H H| consistent, has a .334 average
                              |C H C| with 2 homers. He'll get on base
                              |H C C| most of the time. Also very fast
                              |_____| and a gem on defense.

3B-Andy Fox-#6- _____ - Not too bad. .232 average with 4
                              |N H N| homers. You don't want to sub
                              |C H C| Lowell though, so he doesn't really
                              |N N H| have a purpose. DH him if you want,
                              |_____| but there are better hitters.

3B-Mike Lowell-#19- _____ - Another power hitter. .270 average
                              |C H C| with 22 homers. It's just a few
                              |H H H| losers on the lineup that make this
                              |C H C| ball-club suck. This guy is very
                              |_____| good, and underestimated.

SS-Dave Berg-#10- _____ - .252 average with 1 homer. Another
                              |C N N| mediocre player. Don't really bother,
                              |N H N| unless you want to try him out.
                              |N N C| Gonzalez is better at defense, so
                              |_____| you'll be better off starting him.

SS-Alex Gonzalez-#11- _____ - The wave of good hitters ends here.
                              |C N C| .200 average with 7 homers. He's
                              |N H H| not bad, but could be better. Has
                              |C H N| some speed and defense though, which
                              |_____| is why he starts.

CF-Cliff Floyd-#30- _____ - Woohoo! Some more raw power.
                              |C H C| .300 batting average with 22
                              |N H H| homers. Put him in at RF.
                              |C N H| Leave Wilson 4th in the order,
                              |_____| and put him somewhere else.

CF-Preston Wilson-#44- _____ - Your power hitter of the lineup.
                              |C C C| Bats 4th for a reason, those 31
                              |H H H| homers. Will drive in a couple
                              |C H C| RBIs. Has a .264 average, so he's
                              |_____| pretty reliable.

RF-Eric Owens-#4- _____ - Since you're starting Floyd, this
                              |N H N| is your optimal DH. .293 batting
                              |C H C| average with 6 homers. Very reliable,
                              |H C C| so good to use in a jam. Definitely
                              |_____| use him as your DH.

RF-John Mabry-#47 - _____ - You should be starting Floyd here.
                              |N N C| An average sub, with a .235 average
                              |N H N| and 8 homers. Uh, there's not really
                              |C N H| anything else to say about him.
                              |_____|

SP-Matt Clement-#51- Fastball: 97 - Pretty good, has a fair amount of
Slider: 91 stamina. The 3 strong pitches
Change-up: 48 should be enough, and the Sinker
Sinker: 83 provides a good variation.

SP-Ryan Dempster-#46- Fastball: 97 - Very dominating pitches. One of
Slider: 98 the best pitchers in the league.
Change-up: 92 I think you know what to do with
Splitter: 91 him. Has ultimate potential.

SP-A.J. Burnett-#43- Fastball: 97 - Not too shabby. Good for about
Slider: 87 6 innings, then he's out of gas.
Curveball: 87 You could use him for early
Change-up: 80 relief if you wish.

SP-Doug Snyder-#54- Fastball: 96 - Wow, another good pitcher. The
Curveball: 94 Marlins really ARE a good team.
Change-up: 92 Same drill for him. Vary the
Sinker: 91 pitches, and he should do well.

SP-Brad Penny-#31- Fastball: 97 - Good. Same routine for him.
Curveball: 93 The only thing holding this
Change-up: 90 ball-club back is the lack of
Sinker: 87 a good managing staff.

LR-Alex Fernandez-#32- Fastball: 90 - Average. The Curveball is his
Slider: 75 only dominating pitch. The
Curveball: 92 Fastball is too slow to do
Change-up: 75 damage. The others are typical.

LR-Ricky Bones-#29- Fastball: 91 - So what if he sucks. You still
Slider: 39 have a good arsenal of starters.
Curveball: 90 Take my advice and dump him in
                            Change-up: 36 the farm system, he'll improve.

MR-Vic Darensbourg-#22- Fastball: 95 - 1 inning at most. He's not
Slider: 60 gonna get any better, so deal
Curveball: 63 with it or get rid of him.

MR-Armando Almanza-#55- Fastball: 94 - Another sucky reliever. He
Slider: 40 blew a lot of saves. Abandon
Change-up: 39 him as fast as you can.

SU-Braden Looper-#41- Fastball: 99 - Very dominating Fastball.
Slider: 75 Should scare the hitter enough
Sinker: 73 for you to sneak a slider in.

CL-Antonio Alfonseca-#57- Fastball: 99 - The Fastball/Slider combo should
Slider: 85 grab you the save. He sucks
                            Change-up: 40 other then that.

Change computer shutouts.
When playing a season or franchise, go to the schedule screen, then press X to
get the list of games and start times. When you simulate games, it gives you
the score. If one of the computer teams throws a shutout, you can simulate it
again by pressing A. If there is another shutout, it will simulate it again and
again, until both teams score.

Get a huge batting cursor
While hitting, hold the R trigger button before the pitcher goes into the
windup. The hitting cursor will come up later than the normal cursor, but when
it does, it will be big. The cursor shrinks to normal size as the pitch comes
to the plate, but hitting with the huge cursor is still a lot easier.

Glitch: Picking off a runner 100% of the time
When a runner is on any base, attempt to pick them off by throwing to their
base. They will run back and be safe. Now, as soon as the screen changes back
to the pitcher and batter, throw to the same base very quickly, before they get
their full lead. The runner will slide back but overslide the base and will be
called out. If not, run around them. After you pick off 1 guy, throw to other
bases to get all runners out. Useful on All-Star when the cpu gets bases
loaded.

Glitch: Score by getting in a run down.
Get someone on first or second base. Before the pitcher goes into his windup,
try to advance the runner. The pitcher will throw the ball to the base you are
trying to steal. You will now be in a run down. The fielder will chase you back
to the bag. Then, as soon as your baserunner goes into the slide animation,
press the buttons to advance to the next base. The player with the ball will
freeze until you get to the base, then they will throw it to the next base you
can steal.

Reset the pitch count
This can only be done if you're hitting and have a runner on base. Have the
runner steal and do whatever with him, make him steal or go back to his base,
but immediately hold down Y before the camera switches back to the batter. If
you did it correctly it should show the animation of your batter walking up to
the plate and the count will be reset back to 0-0.

| | FAQ |
|//

In this section I'll try to answer the most common questions I get. I have
actually gotten these questions, so bear with me.

Q: How do I burn PS2 games?
A: You might notice that this is a WSB2K2 FAQ for Dreamcast. But you're in
luck, because I know how to burn PS2 games, and I'm going to tell you. First,
get the original PS2 game and black DVD-R. Put the PS2 game facedown on the
recording side of the DVD-R. Now put the combination in the microwave on high
for 10 minutes. You must stand next to the microwave while it's burning and
frolic happily, or else it won't work. Not only will you get a perfectly
burned PS2 game, you'll get a nice fireworks show.

Q: When will the Strategies section be up?
A: When I'm done with the players section. The FAQ should be entirely done by
Christmas.

Q: Can I host your FAQ on my site?
A: E-mail me for permission, and I'll review your site and decide whether I
want my FAQ on it or not. You must be able to host the latest version without
me telling you. If not, don't bother e-mailing me.

Graphics
Graphically, this game is just beautiful. The stadium models are just great
looking, not to mention some actual blowing flags and updating scoreboards with
the picture of the batter at bat and the score inning by inning like the real
things. However, this may just be a small gripe, but the crowd looks flat and
the animations don't appear to be that smooth. But that is small, and doesn't
affect the game at all. As for the players and their jerseys, they look
excellent including the players looking, for the most part, like their real
life counterparts. They have great animations, especially the pitchers. The
actually deliver the ball to the plate like they do in real life (I know, I
tested it with Byung-Hyun Kim, of my favorite D-backs, and he delivered it with
his weird wind-up). There is one other problem I saw, and that was the
collision system when fielding. I mean, it seems as if as long as you were in
the target you caught it, even if it looked like it hit the guy in the back or
crotch. Other than that, great game graphically.

Sound
This game sounds like a baseball should. Of course, since this is a baseball
game the only music you're going to hear is on the menus and maybe the 7th
inning stretch, "Take Me Out to the Ball Game," if you consider the game's
version music. As for the announcer, he seems very good, although after a few
games (or innings) he starts to sound a bit repetitive. There is also a P.A.
announcer who sounds like he should. As for sound effects, there's some great
crowd ones including "Peanuts!" and "Let's go <player name>!" Then there's even
the normal organ music every once in a while and at the 7th inning stretch. Of
course, there's also the normal sound effects like boo's and the crack of the
bat too. Overall, it gives you a great baseball atmosphere.

Gameplay
As for gameplay, it has improved on last years, although still has minor
problems related to controls. This game contains all the stadiums and teams.
The players are almost all there, but I even noticed a few that weren't
probably because of time restraints. The modes you can select from in this game
are as follows: quick start, exhibition, playoffs, season, franchise, network,
home run derby, and custom. Quick start is just as it sounds, it'll take you to
a game where the teams and everything were quickly chosen, and allow you to get
right to the game. Of course, you'll have to go into options and adjust the
controls so it isn't just CPU versus CPU. Exhibition mode allows you to select
both the home and away teams, along with ballpark, and do any line-up changes
before a game, along with actually playing the game of course. Playoffs are
basically how it sounds. You select the format, the teams, and choose the
series you want to simulate and actually play. It all leads up to the World
Series. Season let's you do a whole lot more. You can propose trades, bring up
players from the minors, adjust your pitching roster and line-up, manage the
DL, sign free agents, and even news for all the transactions you do over the
season. Only thing about trades is the CPU has to agree to it, so not all your
trades will work. Franchise mode allows you to manage your own team, and if
you'd like, play as them too. As for network mode, it's playing online. Just
dial in, find someone to play against, and "Play Ball!" Home Run Derby mode is
a welcome addition this year, as it never ended up in last years despite them
saying it was going to be. As for custom, this is where you go to adjust
options, view records and high scores, and create-a-player. This game
definitely ups last years, and has a whole lot more to offer players too in
terms of gameplay.

Control
The controls in this game are a little different than in the normal baseball
games, at least ones I'm used to. For instant, when fielding, instead of
pointing the joystick in the direction of the base and hitting the throw
button, you just hit the corresponding button (ex. B is 1st, Y is 2nd, X is
3rd, and A is home). After you get used to that, it's all normal baseball from
there. As for when you're up to bat, you will use Y to bunt, A to swing, and
the joystick aims where you are going to swing. As for base running, it uses
the joystick and hitting X to advance to the base in the direction of the
joystick, or B to return. This will work for stealing a base using the X button
too. As for fielding, A will dive, B will change the player, and Y will leap
when going for a ball. When you have the ball, you just hit the corresponding
button for the base you want to throw it to like I mentioned before. This
game's controls will take a little adjusting to get used to, but they do work
well after that.

The Final Word
Overall, baseball fans are in for a good experience from this year World Series
Baseball 2K2. After last years disappointment, Visual Concepts has brought
WSB2K2 back to being a excellent baseball series again. So if you're in the
market for a MLB baseball game, this one I do highly recommend.
