Main Menu

This should tell you what to expect from the home version of the game.

Arcade Mode: Basic deal pick your guys, pick your groove and BATTLE!

-Ratio Mode: The standerd Ratio setup. (choose who in your team is the strongest and the weakest)

-Team Mode: King of Fighters style. (3-man teams, every one is even)

-Single Mode: Street Fighter style. (good ol'one on one)

Vs. Mode: same as Arcade but you and your friend each pick characters, 
 then pick a stage to fight in, etc.(not nessaceraly in that order)

Replay Mode: Play, record and save on your memory card what you belive to be awsome battles.

Survival Mode: It wasn't in the last game with this you tes your true skill
 to withstand continues fighting with either teams or 1 on 1.

Color Edit/Name Edit Mode: This lets you change the various colors of
characters, and yes even their NAMES. You can access your new 
EX character by hitting start on the normal character in arcade/etc. modes.
 Color eidt allows 16 palets to customize, 8 characters per Name change,
and to select your edited character highlight and hold START, press a button and HAZA!

Training Mode: Everyone should take time in this mode and perfect your skills.

Network: Curantly active in Japan and hopfuly when it comes stateside in the 
U.S. as well. This allows both PS2/Dreamcast owners to face-off in online
combat (WHOO HOO!).

Basic Gameplay

GROOVE SELECT:
Before selecting your characters, you are prompted to choose your Groove Select.
 This is basically choosing between the rules fo Street Fighter Alpha, 
Street Fighter 2, Street Fighter 3, KoF, KoF '98, or Samurai Showdown.
 Damage Rating is measured on a scale of 1-10.

C Groove: Level 1: 3, Level 2: 5, Level 3: 6
-Super Bar has three levels
 -Super Bar doesn't go down
 -Super Attacks take either one level or more depending on button used
 -WP/WK = level 1, MP/MK = level 2, HP/HK = level 3
 -Charge bar by attacking and defending
-No Desperation Attack
-Air Blocking
-Guard Cancel
-Dash
-Delayed Stand

CHARACTER SELECT:
The Ratios of the past are gone well kinda, you see now you may select
any character you wish however there are stipulations;
If you want to fight with one character then you may and the character is set to 
 ratio 4.
If you want to fight with two characters then the ratio is divided so 
 each character is at ratio 2 or one can be set too ratio 3 and the other at ratio 1.
And finaly if you want to fight with three characters(sorry no more four man teams)
 then you pick who your main character is and he's set to ratio 2 and the other two
 are set to ratio 1.

EX CHARACTERS: There are no more EX versions of the characters. Now what 
Capcom has done is remix the old characters with the EX characters to make
them more complete. They even gave extra moves to some characters that weren't
in Capcom vs. SNK. just get a copy of the old Capcom vs. SNK FAQ from 
www.gamefaqs.com and compair the old moves with this and see for your self.

GROOVE POINTS SYSTEM:
This tells you how well you do through the fights on a scale of 0 to 300.
 However, you can only gain them for certin tasks done per fight.

1.Try using a Ratio 4 character.
2.Try using a character with high hitting combos or supers.
3.Try to win with a Perfect.
4.Try to finish with a Super.
5.Try to get a Finest KO.

Groove Edit Mode: This lets you create your own custom groove
the game allows for two, EX1 and EX2. You must turn EX MODE on 
in the normal game options for the modes to appear in arcade/etc.
 To unlock you have to beat the game several times, you initially have 4000 
points with which to use toward the various skills...

1800 - C-Guage (3 stocks of lv1-lv3 Super Moves)
2200 - A-Guage (2 stocks of lv1 Super Move, allows use of Custom Combos)

The Bosses

Through out Fighting game history there is a character (or two) that is at the end
 that stands above all and dominates over all. The Gatherer, the Puppet master,
the one who strikes fear in both appearence and his/her moves thier called Bosses.
This section explains the details on who the bosses are, what makes them so special,
and the best tactic to fighting them.

----------------------------------
About the Bosses
----------------------------------

First of all to get to the boss you must first beat all 4-5 stages
then you face a Ratio 4 version of Geese or Vega (based on what groove you're using) 
then if you played well you'll face either a Ratio 4 version of Gouki or Rugal 
(again based on what groove you're using), but if you played exceptionaly well 
then you'll face one of the the hidden bosses Shin Gouki or God Rugal.

This next part discribes just what happens in the game to make these bosses so powerful.

Shin Gouki(Akuma): Gouki executes his Shun Goku Satsu on Rugal. Rugal with his last
 breath of life, will stab his hand into Gouki and force the blood of Orochi into
Gouki, and Gouki becomes uncontrollable. In the end Gouki's heart stops beating... but
the powers within him won't let him die, and it revives him.

God Rugal: Rugal is shown sucking in all the powers of Gouki, and turn into God Rugal.
 And with that you face a Rugal with the power of the Dark Hadou and the Blood of Orochi.

To Fight Them
----------------------------------

The requirements for Gouki/Rugal and S. Gouki/G.Rugal
also include the requirements for Geese/Vega.

Geese / Vega: fulfill ALL of the following by the end of the fourth battle;
-Never had a timeover
-Com gets no more than five First Attacks against you
-Com gets no more than two Super Combo KO's

Gouki/Rugal: fulfill two of the following by the end of the final round;
-Accumulate 1000+ Groove Points
-Accumulate four Super Combo KO's
-Get either Geese or Vega to appear and defeat him
-Accumulate two SDM/lv3 Super Combos KO's

Shin Gouki/God Rugal: fulfill two of the following by the end of the final round;
-Accumulate 1500+ Groove Points
-Get at least one Finest KO
-Getting either Geese or Vega to appear and defeat him

Outcomes
----------------------------------

This section discribes how you'll know if you fought good enough to get to 
 the final boss.

Ending 1-No Boss, Bad Ending
 After fighting Geese or Vega you're treated to an
image of your character(team) with the word 
CONGRADULATIONS! Then thats it.

Ending 2-Normal Boss, No Ending
 Intsed of fighting Geese or Vega you'll see either Gouki or Rugal 
waiting to fight you then after beating them they state that you're 
not worth thier time and leave to fight thier true rival(Gouki or Rugal).

Ending 3-Hidden Boss, Good Ending
 Insted of fighting them you'll see Gouki and Rugal fighting each other 
then one of them(pending on the groove you're using) will win and transform into
a more powerful version of them selves (I mean REALY POWERFUL!) Shin Gouki or God Rugal.
 After beating one of them you're treated to you're characters good ending.
Yes thats right all the characters (all 44 of them) have indavidual endings now.

 Yun takes his hat off and bows politely to Manali, who is standing 
next to Nakoruru.

-Balrog vs. Benimaru, Kyosuke, Vega:
 Balrog throws a rose.

-Zangief vs. Raiden:
 They grapple one another; 
Raiden:YOU'RE DEAD MEAT!
then hop back in fighting stance.

-Vega vs. Rugal:
 Rugal:I will take your power from you!
Rugal's panther growls, while Vega does one of his intros.
Rugal:Go! (signaling for his panther to leave)

-Dan vs. Sagat:
 Dan rolls in crying stands and yells "OYAJIII!"

 Maki leans over,
Maki:Say what are you looking at?,
