1.Introduction
 Well, this is my very first FAQ on a game! So this probably isn't as
good as it would be if I were more experienced, but everyone has to
start somewhere! So, what better a place than here, on a FAQ for a game
that doesn't have any! This is made especially for the PC version, but
it doesn't make much difference. It will also go just fine and dandy
when trying to do the Sega CD version. Well, the control buttons will
obviously be different, but you can basically get the main idea. So,
without further ado, on with the show! ...I mean...FAQ! Yeah...

2. Updates
10/23/01 - I fixed the art, I changed the copyright, and changed the
name.

6/19/00: I started this FAQ. I am not sending this in until I get a
least all the sections basically done.

6/20/00: I picked up where I stopped last night, on wacky workbench,
finished the walkthrough for there, and the rest of the FAQ. Also added
the warning about freezing in the introduction.

6/21/00: The Microsoft Word program messed up and there is something in
it that won't work on the other FAQ so I printed out the other one and
am having my mom type this for me so I don't have to do it all over! :b

6/28/00: Finished doing little nothing things and sent it in.

7/8/00: Added 2 sites for where this can be and also added what Cory
Armstrong said about getting all the time stones!

7/30/00: Added what DL1897 said about the weird H machine and metal
sonic hologram. Also added my friend in the Thanks to... area.

02/26/01: Well. I went read through this. It's awful. After debating
with myself if I should get rid of it, but decided not to. It's just
too...filled with memories. My first FAQ. Hey, cut me some slack... I
think everyone did awful on their first one anyway. I fixed the ASCII
art, got rid of some stupid comments, added other stupid comments,
decided that the link might change sometime so I just copied & pasted
the codes, giving thanks for them. Along with some other stuff. I WILL
make this better. I need to finish other projects first. I need to fix
Mischief Makers and send in the update, and finish Super Street Fighter
II and send in the first version. If you need help with a specific
part, email me about it, and describe it, and state the level and
world.

7/29/01
Hrm, last update never went through. So it looks like it's been a year
since I updated. Or close to it. Meh. Anyway, changing the copyright.

3.Story
Thanks to the instructions that are on the CD when you install it for
the story here...

"Sonic, where are you going now?"

Sonic the Hedgehog looked over his shoulder at Amy, the young hedgehog
who was racing hot on his heels.

"To Never Lake," he called back.

"Why Never Lake?"

Sonic slowed down a little so he could explain. "Ever heard of the
Little Planet?"

"Isn't that the tiny world that orbits around Mobius?" Amy asked. "The
one with the special stones that alter time and change everything
around them? I heard that the planet's full of places that are
completely ignored by the passage of time!"

"Yeah. On the last month of every year, the Little Planet appears over
Never Lake. It's that time now, and I'm going to check it out. I bet
space travel will be exciting!"

"With all those Time Stones, I bet you'll try to outrun time itself!"
Amy sighed.

Sonic didn't reply. He just smiled, eyes gleaming.

When they arrived at Never Lake, the Little Planet was there as
expected. But something was wrong. Where there should have been tall
trees and bright flowers, there was nothing but dry sand and jagged
rocks. The Little Planet was tethered to a rock with a huge chain, and
its surface was covered with twisted, gleaming metal.

"What happened?" Amy wondered.

Before Sonic could reply, something whooshed over them. Amy shrieked
as she was snatched up, and she and her captor vanished in a blue
streak of light!

"What the -- AMY!"

It didn't take long for Sonic to realize what had happened. "This has
to be one of Dr. Robotnik's tricks!"

Indeed it was! Upon discovering the location of the Little Planet, the
evil Dr. Robotnik and his robot cronies had immediately set about
converting it to a giant fortress. When Robotnik saw Sonic
approaching, he had dispatched his prize creation, the Metal Sonic, to
grab Amy and lure his archenemy into danger.

"How convenient!" Robotnik crowed, bouncing about like a malicious
rubber ball. "This time my scientific expertise will crush you! Once
all the Time Stones are in my hands, I'll be able to manipulate time
and conquer the world! HO, HO, HO, HO!"

Sonic stood on a rock and thought. Robotnik had control of the Little
Planet. He had Amy, and soon he would have the Time Stones ... but
not if Sonic got to them first!

His adventure on the Little Planet was going to be more exciting and
dangerous than he'd planned. It was time to get a move on!

4. Controls

Okay, you are probably thinking, "Why does this person put a section on
controls in here, for crying out loud?" Well, there is a move that
isn't in the other games, and, for someone new at Sonic games.

Right arrow key: Moves Sonic right. The longer you hold it, the quicker
you go.

Left arrow key: Moves Sonic left. The longer you hold it, the quicker
you go.

Up arrow key: Sonic looks up. Hold it for awhile, and the screen moves
up some so you can see what is above you. Let go, and the screen goes
back to normal.

Down arrow key: Sonic looks down. Hold it for awhile, and the screen
moves down some so you can see what is below you. Let go, and the
screen goes back to normal.

Space Bar: Sonic jumps. If he touches an enemy, he beats them an they
disappear.

Up arrow key held and spacebar tapped: Sonic moves his feet really
quickly. When they are going in a figure 8 design, let go and you will
run at the speed to be able to time warp! (more on this later)

Down arrow key held and spacebar tapped: Sonic spins really quickly.
When the screen moves so that Sonic is close to the left side of it,
let go for a blast of speed (also enough to time warp) and any enemy he
touches is beaten and disappears.

Running and letting go of the arrow key, pressing the down arrow key
while still rolling: Beats an enemy in front of you if the place is too
small to jump in.

5. Items
Yellow Circle: A single power ring. Power rings are the life source of
Sonic. When you hit an enemy, he drops all of them. If you don't have
any when you hit an enemy, you'll die. Which makes you lose a life.
When you get hit, they all fly out. Get at least one if you can.

Boxes with a picture of Sonic in them: extra life

Boxes with a picture of a yellow circle in it: 10 power rings

Boxes with a blue bubble: a shield. It lets you take a hit without
losing your rings.

Sign that says, "Past": touch it and it spins. Now, if you can go
quickly enough, for a certain period of time, you warp into the past.

Sign that says, "Future": touch it and it spins. Now, if you can go
quickly enough, for a certain period of time, you warp into the future.

Holograph of metal sonic with animals around it: hit the thing nearby
that is solid that is making it for part 1 of a trick...this only is in
the past.

Weird thing that looks like an "H". for part 2 of the trick, find
this, and destroy it. If you destroy both the metal sonic holo thing
and H thing, then the boss fight against Robotnik will be a good
future. Also, when you destroy this, then all the enemies in the level
get killed! You don't have do get the holo metal sonic to get the
enemies to die. Just that for the enemies. Cool! Thanks goes to DL1897
for telling me this!

Boxes with shoes: this makes Sonic go faster for awhile.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
6. Time Stones
You get these by beating something where you are in a 3-D area and
can't stop running. You can slow down, speed up, but not stop. You try
to destroy these spaceship things. The controls are the same as before,
except no moves like the figure 8 thing or spin-dash, and, you don't
crouch or look up, but instead, slow down or speed up. Blue ships don't
count when you destroy them, but they give you 30 more seconds. DO NOT
GET IN THE WATER IF POSSIBLE! I REPEAT! DO NOT GET IN THE WATER IF
POSSIBLE! I can't stress this enough. It really, really, is a hazard.
It drains away 10 seconds off the clock. I didn't know what the Time
Stones  did, but Cory Armstrong Emailed me and said that you just get a
different ending. Ack! All that work just for a different ending? Oh
well. Thanks Cory! And the other ending isn't that much better even.
Yeesh.
7. The Levels
Palm Tree Panic
This is a pretty easy level. Nothing that's too hard with a little
practice. The enemies most of the time are mosquitoes, which dive bomb
you straight downwards. Blue guys, which shoot these red balls at you
when they crouch, and some ants that ride around on wheels. 3 zones,
like in every level in this game. The last zone is a boss fight. Go
through the short level until the end, get behind Dr. Robotnik's
machine (you need to have some rings to you can get behind him) and hit
him 3 times. Doesn't even fight back. Now, onto the next level.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Collision Chaos
Basically this is like Palm Tree Panic. Now, here, we have something
new. Flippers! What do they do? Flip you, of course! Now, the main part
that could give you the hardest problem here is the flippers. They gave
me quite a problem. Here is how they work. They don't automatically
flip you. Press the jump button and you get flipped through the air.
But, you have to hold the jump button for really high flips. To get to
Robotnik, you have to go through a pinball type place with flippers.
Just practice at using them, eventually you will get the hang of it.
Then, after you get a high enough bounce, you land on a platform with
Robotnik above you. Just jump at him until he flies away.
Now, after you have defeated him, onto...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tidal Tempest
Okay, like almost every video game, there is a level where it has
water. Well, here is that level in this game! Remember, don't spend
lots of time underwater or you will run out of air. Be sure to get a
breath every once in awhile. Also you can get air when you see a lot of
bubbles. Wait for one bubble to get bigger than others. That is the one
you want to get. Jump and get it. Now you have full air. Dr. Robotnik
is easy here, just follow him and hit him until he gets to the point
where when you can't hit him again, he zooms away. Then, he goes on a
different route at a point. (Normally, he just goes on the same path
endlessly.) So, now you are underwater. Just keep on grabbing the air
bubbles on his machine, and eventually you can hit him. It just takes
one hit to beat him in the underwater phase. Just always have a ring.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Quartz Quadrant
My favorite music in the game! This shouldn't be much problem. Just
remember that on most of the moving treadmill things, there is a sign
nearby that will change its direction. Just walk past the sign and it
changes, no matter what direction it was going before. For the boss
fight here, just run toward Robotnik, hit him, and then the platform
lowers. Now, just run toward him, and when a bomb appears above you,
just slow down, but not enough to hit the spikes behind you. This
probably doesn't make much sense to you, but just keep running and you
will have it done after awhile. Now, we get to enjoy (yeah right) the
level known as:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wacky Workbench
Okay, this is probably one of the most frustrating levels in the game.
The ground flickers and bounces you. When it doesn't flicker (which
only lasts for about half of a second) you can walk normally on it.
Just remember, when you get stuck, look and wait for the moving
platforms to come by when you are at the edge of a platform where you
would walk off onto the bouncy part, wait for a moving platform. One
will probably come by. Just ride it and jump onto the next, until you
get on to the next room type thing. Robotnik is difficult. Rocks fall
down, so get on the one on the either far left or far right side rock,
then, you will notice, that, because of your weight, it won't go high
enough. So, when the platforms are almost about to fall, just jump to
the one that is next to you (if you are on the far left, jump onto the
one to the right. If you are on the far right, jump on the one to the
left). Then, jump on the platform above you, land back on the platform
you just jumped on to hit Robotnik the second time, (once when you came
in the room, then when you just rode the rocks up on that platform).
So, do that again to Robotnik. Then, instead of rocks, spikes come
down. Dodge them. Now the rocks come down. But, get on one of the ones
near the center, instead of the ones on the outside. Just stay on the
ride until you get to where Robotnik is, hit him, and you beat him!
Now, we suffer through..
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Stardust Speedway
Okay, this is really annoying. Just play around with the things and you
eventually can get it. For the Robotnik fight here, you have to race
Mecha Sonic! Just jump over the spikes, and don't hit Dr. Robotnik's
laser cannon coming down from his ship, and come in first. At the end,
Mecha Sonic slows down quite a bit. Jump over him at the end, run into
the room, stay in there, and you beat Robotnik here! Now, for the
hardest level in the game, and the last one..
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Metallic Madness
 Okay, this is going to be hard. The rest of the game is pretty easy,
but, here, now everything changes. Now it is a truly hard level. Good
luck. Have a nice time...what? You want me to tell you about this place
and how to beat Robotnik here, too? Well, I guess I will. I just hope
you know that you are making me miss "The Brady Bunch" reruns. Oh well.
What a tragedy. I could cry. Meanie. Err...
 Here, the first enemy you see has a blade. And btw, no, that is not
your computer messing up, that is the sound of the blade spinning.
Might just want to turn the volume down before you start here. Ow. So,
just work at this place for about a good hour or so and you will have
all the things down on how they work. Just take your time to learn
here. In front of Robotnik there are some yellow ball worms. Just hit
them on their head. Then, after you can get to Robotnik, you will find
he is not too hard, just always have a ring. Hit him once, one block
comes off. Next time, another comes off. But when he has two left, when
he stops like he is going to come down to try to run you over again, he
doesn't. But, he does fire his 2 blocks at you. Dodge them, and wait.
Then he comes down. Hit him, then he will once again act like he is
going to come down, but he fires his one last block, so you dodge it,
then he will do his floating and moving in the air again, and now, when
he stops, he tries to stomp you with his last block. You probably need
to have a ring left to hit him. I can do it without a ring, but
nontheless, it sure helps to have one. Now, that you hit him with his
last block.. does he get into an even harder machine? Does he attack
you on foot? No, you just beat the game! Pretty easy for the last boss
of a game, wouldn't you say? Congrats! Now try to beat the time trial
times to earn some secrets...
8. End
Well, this was pretty fun! Now, a list of thanks, to:
My Mom, for taking me to "Toys R Us" that one Saturday, when I saw they
had it, and I bought it.
My Dad, for letting me go to my friend's birthday party which changed
my schedule for the day, so the morning was open, so I could go to Toys
R Us.
My Friend, who invited me to his birthday party, which cleared up my
schedule, so I could go to Toys R Us.
Toys R Us, who had this game in the first place.
Sega, for putting this game on computers.
Expert Software, for helping Sega put it on computers or whatever.
Cory Armstrong, for telling me what happens when you get all the Time
Stones.
DL1897 for telling me what the point is to the metal sonic holograph
and H thingy.
My friend, No1AceRob, for showing me something on a certain part in the
game (didn't help much, but he did some, and he has helped me on loads
of other games, so I guess I should put him in here)
IGN for the codes
Hate to:
Expert Software, for making this game freeze about 5 or 6 times that I
have had it.
Microsoft for making Microsoft Word so hard to use at first and making
it so I had two lines on my other FAQ that I couldn't get deleted.
=)I just had to do that;) Heheheheh..
This FAQ is not to be used on any websites besides:
http://www.gamefaqs.com
All other sites can forget using it. I've decided that these are the
only 2 that are really truly responsible enough about keeping up with
updates, and are done professionally enough. So don't even ask. I'll
either ignore it or say no.
