site alert me immediately, and I will be forced to take legal action. If this
FAQ is ever used in any other place it may not be used for commercial purposes.
This FAQ was created to help those who play Starcraft 64, and it will be only
used for that purpose. Also if you are to use it anywhere else, you must first

============
Introduction
============
The Protoss are perhaps the most complicated of all the species. Unlike the
other species, they use shields added on to their HP total. Also, they need the
energy of a Pylon to be built. They, graphically, look the best in the game as
well. By most players they are considered o be the best race, with the best
buildings in strength. Unlike the other species, the buildings aren't built.
They are warped in from the homeworld of the Protoss, Aiur. Because of this
factor, the probes which warp them, can warp in many buildings at once. That
being perhaps the best feature of the species and their buildings. It allows
you
to build fast and efficiently, at the same time, using strategy.

====================
Explanation of Terms
====================
Cost: How many Minerals and how much Gas you will need to build.

HP: How much base health the building has.

Shields: How much shielding the building has.

Requirements: What other buildings are needed to build.

Tasks: What the building does.

=============
Building List
=============

-----
Nexus
-----

Cost: 400 Minerals, 0 Gas
HP: 750
Shields: 750
Requirements: None

Tasks:
Build Probe
The Nexus gives 9 supply units.

This pyramidal structure towers over every Protoss settlement. It acts as the
core of any base, and provides the precious probes that mine minerals and gas.
Obtain Minerals fast, using many probes. Then, as you move forward, build more
of these near mineral settlements to expand your base into other areas and make
you all the more stronger.

-----
Pylon
-----

Cost: 100 Minerals
HP: 300
Shields: 300
Requirements: None

Tasks:
The Pylon provides 8 supply units as well as creating a power zone needed to
power Protoss buildings.

The pylons, carved from the precious Khaydarin crystals, are perhaps the most
important building in a Protoss base. They provide the supplies you will need
to
build units and also they give off the energy field needed to power Protoss
buildings. I strongly suggest having more than one of these powering each
building. If it is knocked out, all buildings it was powering become useless.
Bild many of these, don't allow them to be your weakness. These also provide
the
supply units for creatig units, another reason to not be stingy.

-------
Gateway
-------

Cost: 150 Minerals, 0 Gas
HP: 500
Shields: 500
Requirements: Nexus

Tasks:
Build Zealot
Build Dragoon; This requires a Cybernetics Core
Build High Templar; This requires a Templar Archives

This is the building where Protoss ground units are warped in from Aiur.
Usually
you will need to build more than one gateway because they produce units slower
than all other species, perhaps up to 8, all in a row. That way you can be
building many units at once, because the protoss, as I have said, build very
slowly. Also, I suggest building more than one pylon near each one, because
they
are very very important buildings to have in a base.

-----------
Assimilator
-----------

Cost: 100 Minerals, 0 Gas
HP: 450
Shields: 450
Requirements: None

Tasks:
When a probe enters the assimilator, it will bring back 8 gas.

Build these as soon as you have a gateway, and some pylons. You will need gas
soon. As the game progresses you will need to have these on each geyser, and
perhaps, depending on the number of geysers, more than one probe mining from
each.

-----
Forge
-----

Cost: 150 Minerals, 0 Gas
HP: 550
Shields: 550
Requirements: None

Tasks:
Upgrade Ground Attacks
Upgrade Ground Armor
Upgrade All Building and Unit Shields

This is a very important building in the Protoss base. It upgrades all ground
units and is a requirement for the precious Photon Cannons. I suggest building
two or three of these so you can do all the upgrades at once.

-------------
Photon Cannon
-------------

Cost: 150 Minerals, 0 Gas
HP: 100
Shields: 100
Requirements: Forge

Tasks: No real tasks but attack, so heres the attacking stats.
Ground Attack: 20
Air Attack: 20
Attack Range: 7

Photon Cannons aren't very useful on their own because they are slow firing and
have low heath and shields. But in large numbers they can fire quickly and can
easily defend against any rush attacks. I suggest building more than one Pylon
near these, because if someone eliminates the Pylons, the buildings are
powerless. Build these as soon as you have the capability to do so. Mostly near
any entrances to your base, but later in the game scatter them, because they
detect cloaked units as well.

-----------------
Cybernetics Core
-----------------

Cost: 200 Minerals, 0 Gas
HP: 500
Shields: 500
Requirements: Gateway

Tasks:
Dragoon Range Upgrade
Upgrade Air Attacks
Upgrade Air Armor

This is a very important early game structure. It is the building required to
move into any advanced structures. Also, once you build this you can start
making Dragoons at the Gateway, and start upgrading aircraft's. I aslso suggest
building more than one, as you would with any upgrade structures, so that you
can upgrade every option at once.

-----------------
Robotics Facility
-----------------

Cost: 200 Minerals, 200 Gas
HP: 450
Shields: 450
Requirements: Cybernetics Core

Tasks:
Build Shuttle
Build Reaver (Requires Robotics Support Bay)
Build Observer (Requires Observatory)

Here you can here create the special units of the Protoss force. The
Transportation Shuttle can be upgraded to move much faster. The Reaver, a
powerful long range killer, and the spying Observer are built after their
requirements are fulfilled.

--------
Stargate
--------

Cost: 150 Minerals, 100 Gas
HP: 600
Shields: 600
Requirements: Cybernetics Core

Options:
Build Scout
Build Arbiter (Requires Arbiter Tribunal)
Build Carrier (Requires Fleet Beacon)

You can create the powerful air units of the Protoss here. You may want to
build
more than one Stargate since the build time of the air units is very slow.
Also,
Put more than one Pylon near these, you don't want to lose it. Build some
Scouts
with this right away, then, if you have the nessesary buildings, the Carrier
and
the Arbiter.

--------------------
Robotics Support Bay
--------------------

Cost: 150 Minerals, 100 Gas
HP: 450
Shields: 450
Requirements: Robotics Facility

Tasks:
Shuttle Speed Upgrade
Scarab Damage Upgrade
Reaver Capacity Upgrade

You can gain an important Shuttle speed upgrade as well as the Reaver upgrades
you need to make them a deadly powerhouse. As I have said, build as many of
these as there are upgrade options, because then all upgrades can be made at
once.

----------------
Templar Archives
----------------

Cost: 150 Minerals, 200 Gas
HP: 500
Shields: 500
Requirements: Citadel of Adun

Tasks:
Learn High Templar Spell Psionic Storm
Learn High Templar Spell Hallucination
+50 High Templar Energy

The templar Archives is a requirement for many other buildings, and that's
reason enough to build, even if you don't plan on using the powerful High
Templars.

---------------
Citadel of Adun
---------------

Cost: 150 Minerals, 100 Gas
HP: 450
Shields: 450
Requirements: Cybernetics Core

Tasks:
Zealot Speed Upgrade

Learn the Zealot speed upgrade as soon as possible. Once you do, the zealots
will seem much less pointless. Nesessary bulding to have, but only because they
are a gateway to others.

------------
Fleet Beacon
------------

Cost: 300 Minerals, 200 Gas
HP: 500
Shields: 500
Requirements: Stargate

Tasks:
Upgrade Carrier Capacity
Scout Speed Upgrade
Scout Sight Upgrade

With the Fleet Beacon you gain the ability to create Carriers and Scout
upgrades
for speed and sight, now you have a powerful air army. Don't lose this building
or you lose the backbone of all air raids, the Carrier. Always research the
Capacity upgrade if you plan on using Carriers, it will make them twice as
powerful.

----------------
Arbiter Tribunal
----------------

Cost: 300 Minerals, 300 Gas
HP: 450
Shields: 450
Requirements: Stargate, Templar Archives

Options:
Arbiter Spell, Recall
Arbiter Spell, Stasis
+50 Arbiter Energy

At this building you can learn the Arbiter spells and get the ability to create
Arbiters. You'll need both the Stargate and Templar Archives to create this
one.

-----------
Observatory
-----------

Cost: 50 Minerals, 100 Gas
HP: 250
Shields: 250
Requirements: Robotics Facility

Tasks:
Observer Sight Upgrade
Observer Speed Upgrade

You can get useful upgrades for the Observer at the Observatory as well as the
ability to build them at Robotics Facility.

--------------
Shield Battery
--------------

Cost: 100 Minerals, 0 Gas
HP: 200
Shields: 200
Requirements: Gateway

Tasks:
Recharge Shields

Useful if you want to have a "healing zone" for your units. The damaged shield
repair very quickly when placed on the battery. However, you'll need more than
one since the battery can run out of energy quickly when re-healing an army.
