FS98/FS2000
Yak-40
Cockpit Version 2.0
Now here is Version 2.0 of my Yakovlev Yak-40 Panel. The new Version is not a combination for both Flightsim Versions (FS98 / FS2000) so of course you need the FS98 Version for FS98 and the FS2000 Version for the new Simulator. Like in Version 1.0 the Altimeter, Vertical Speed, Airspeed and Radioalt are metric Gauges. New are the illuminated Instruments. They are illuminated in the FS2000 AND in the FS98 Panel.
Version 2.0 is not a rework of the old Yak-40 Panel. It's a completely new Panel which is based on better photos of a newer Yak-40 Aircraft. The Panelbitmap is completely reworked and I think it looks much better now. The first thing you will recognize is the new Overhead Panel Layout. This Bitmap now based on the real Yak-40 Cockpit (in Version 1.0 I've used the Overhead Part from a Yak-42 because I had no Information about the real Overhead Panel when I designed it). Another important thing which I've changed are the primary Instruments. Version 1.0 of my Yak-40 Panel based on an older Aircraft. This Instruments are now from a newer and much better equipped Yak.
The Yak-40 Panel is also working in FS2000 now (just of course if you're using the FS2000 Version). The Main Problem was the Vertical Speed Indicator of Version 1.0 which does not work in the new Simulator. Version 2.0 uses another compatible VSI.
There are some minor differences between the FS98 and FS2000 Panel. I've wrote this Manual for both Simulators but you will recognize the differences very fast.
1 | Radio (FS98 and FS2000). |
2 | Transponder (FS98 and FS2000). |
3 | VOR-1 Receiver (just FS2000). In FS98 here is the combinated Radio Gauge for the RMI (VOR-1, VOR-2, ADF-1 and ADF-2). |
4 | VOR-2 Receiver (just FS2000). In FS98 here is the combinated Radio Gauge for the RMI (VOR-1, VOR-2, ADF-1 and ADF-2). |
5 | ADF Receiver (just FS2000). In FS98 here is the combinated Radio Gauge for the RMI (VOR-1, VOR-2, ADF-1 and ADF-2). |
6 | Indicator Lights for the switches below. |
7 | Landing Light switch. |
8 | Strobe Light switch. |
9 | Panel Light switch. |
10 | Pitot Heat switch. |
11 | Fuel selector (from left to right: Off, Left Aux, Left Main, Right Main, Right Aux, All). |
12 | Automatic Brake after Landing. |
13 | Fuel Pumps for Engine 1 to 3. |
14 | Starter for Engine 1 to 3. |
When the Overhead Panel is turned off you can see the Light switches, the Automatic Brake and the Starters in the Main Panel Window. The Position and Function of each switch is the same as in the Overhead Panel Window.
15 | Master Warning Light. Lights up
when: a) Spoiler is set and
Throttle is at least 20%, |
16 | Oil Pressure Warning Lights for Engine 1 to 3 (from left to right). |
17 | OMI Light. |
18 | Warning lights for the Tanks (from left to right: left Aux Tank, left Main Tank, right Main Tank, right Aux Tank). The lights goes on when the corresponding Tank has less than 10% Fuel. |
19 | Parking Brake Light. You can click on this light to set or release the Parking Brakes. |
20 | Switch for the Overhead Panel. You can use this switch to turn on or off the Overhead Panel Window. |
21 | In FS2000 this switch turns on the GPS Panel. In the FS98 Version here is the switch to turn of the Radar Window and use the free space for a Periscope with a new Window (Top-Down-View). |
22 | Warning Light for Reverse Thrust of Engine 1. |
23 | Aircraft Configuration Lights. This typical Russian Instrument has Lights for Gear, Flaps and Spoiler. |
24 | Warning Lights for Reverse Thrust of Engine 2 (left) and 3 (right). |
25 | Navigation Mode Selector (from left to right: Off, HDG, NAV, APR, BC). |
26 | Altitude Hold Switch. The Aircraft will hold the actual Altitude when turn on this mode. If you have selected a positive or negative Vertical Speed (with Pos. 27) the Aircraft will hold the selected VS. |
27 | Vertical Speed Selector. The Aircraft will hold the selected Vertical Speed when the Altitude Hold (Pos. 26) is turned on. A green light above the selector shows a positive VSI and a red light a negative VSI. |
28 | Altitude Hold Warning light. This light goes on when the Autopilot is turned on and the Altitude Hold Function is set. You can also switch on this light to turn Alt on. |
29 | Autopilot Master Switch (lights up when AP is on). |
30 | GPS / Navigation Switch. Use this switch to fly a selected Flightplan with the FS2000 GPS. NOT IN FS98! |
31 | Switch here to turn back the Stopwatch. |
32 | Invisible switch pointers for setting the clock. There are two click-positions (not easy to find) to increase and decrease hours and minutes! |
33 | Switch to start the stopwatch. One round of the large fourth needle shows exactly a minute and the small needle in the lower side of the clock goes up to 30 minutes. |
And now have fun flying!!!!
