 IFR Navigation
  • IFR Charts : It is strongly recommended to download the complete IFR charts collection for Greece.
    You can find them HERE

NOTE: THESE CHARTS ARE NOT TO BE USED IN REAL LIFE NAVIGATION. THEY ARE AVAILABLE ONLY FOR FLIGHT SIMULATOR PURPOSES

  • "Flight Simulation in Greece" : Here is a zip file containing 2 very helpful documents which refer to:

    • Report about Flight Simulation in Greece (even though it refers mostly to fs98 users, it gives you a great idea of the Flight Simulation environment in Greece)

    • A very important table with ALL Greek Airports and their features : ID, Elev, ATIS, Rwy & Dimensions, Surface, APPR.Type, Runway Lighting, Usage & Comments.

  • Precision : All IFR procedures will be followed by the book, always within the limits of Flight Simulator.

  • Remember…

    • Flying Eastbound (Headings 360-179) altitudes/Flight levels are ODD. (FL270/290/330/370…)

    • Flying Westbound (Headings 180 – 359) altitudes/Flight levels are EVEN. (FL260/280/310/350…)

FL300, 320, 340 etc DO NOT EXIST. Please don’t file for those levels.

  • Practice : Since the main purpose of this fly-in is to enhance the realism and entertainment factors by reproducing real life procedures and to provide training and practice for correct IFR and ATC procedures, ATC may ask you to correct your flight plan if necessary.

  • One way airways must be respected.

  • Airlines : All flights operating under airline Callsign should preferably use the 3 letter ICAO designator, or the 2 letter IATA designator of the airline they simulate along with a flight number.

  • Pvt Acs : Flights operating as private aircraft flights, VIP etc, should use as Callsign the (simulated) aircraft registration.

  • R/T + Callsign : If using voice, the approved ICAO radiotelephony Callsign should be used.

 Have a nice flight... :oD
