1.0     Introduction

This self-extracting file contains the latest ATI Windows NT 4.0 display
driver for the Microsoft Retail Release of the Windows NT 4.0 operating
system.

2.0     Installation Notes

This driver package contains:

  - ATI.SYS        (ATI Graphics miniport driver)
  - ATI.DLL        (ATI Graphics display  driver)
  - ATI.INF        (setup file used by Windows NT Setup program)
  - SSDPMS.SCR     (DPMS Screen Saver)
  - SSGPCDEF.HLP
  - SSGPCDEF.RSC
  - README.DEF
  - README.NT4     This README file

Procedure:

The Windows NT 4.0 Display Driver is installed and configured using the
standard Windows NT configuration utilities.

1.  Start Windows NT.

2.  Select File and then Run.

3.  When asked for the file to run, enter NT40-176.EXE from the directory
    it was downloaded into. 

4.  Follow the instructions displayed to uncompress the installation
    files into C:\ATI\SUPPORT\NT40.

5.  Run the Windows NT Display program located in the Control Panel, Main
    group.

6.  Select Change Display Type.

7.  Select Change... from the display options.

8.  Select Other...

9.  NT will prompt you for the correct path, enter C:\ATI\SUPPORT\NT40

10. A list of ATI graphics accelerators will be displayed. Select the 
    card you are using, then click on the "OK" button.

11. Windows NT will once again prompt for confirmation.  All appropriate
    files are then copied to your Windows directory.

12. Restart Windows NT.  Windows NT will start up using the new drivers.

13. NT will boot into a default mode and start the Display applet allowing
    for mode selection.

After successfully installing the driver, you can delete the contents of
the directory C:\ATI\SUPPORT\NT40 using the 'Remove ATI Temporary Files'
icon.

We recommend that you keep a copy of the NT40-176.EXE, in case you need
to install the driver again.
